What a night! Thanks for letting us share in the fun!! Congratulations to your friend!!

Nice pics glad you had a good time. Congtats to your mate and the date on your camera is a year out. Love to York, used to live on river @ Elvington.

Quite simple mate!

As an officer they have to pay a mess bill. Which all officers have to pay weather they like it or not on a monthly basis. These event cost an anormous about of money,I'm not just talking about the catering for this event. They may have paid £300.00 towards the event. the likely hood, the whole event would have cost £20-£30,000.00

As it is a Passing out of Cranwell or as you called a Graduation, the country pays for the event as they are now commissioned officers

oranges and pears

If you cannot justify one means by bringing in another. These men and women had a choice to join the forces, people losing their jobs to overseas call centres don't there has been 50,000 job loses in the finance sector alone to these call centres in the last five years to spend £60K+ on this is a dam better return than spending £50K+ on 93 people and their family and friends for a glorified disco

Im guessing you're just dont understand what exactly the celebration is all about. What these young men have been through to become Officers of the Queens Air Force.

You say they had a choice - that is very true. People who work in Finance Sector also have a choice, and they should have known that the Finance Sector is a very unstable place to get a job in the UK market at the moment. Outsourcing is NOT a new thing - its been happening for the past 10 years.

Im sure your the type of guy that would also be the first to moan if we didnt have an Air Force to defend the UK Airspace.

Oh do tell what this celebration is about, I'm sure that there is many people who actually know. You have lost your case as soon as you sent me that IM so for everybody's else's benefit

Being the "chubby" person you are im guessing you're just too large to understand what exactly the celebration is all about. What these young men have been through to become Officers of the Queens Air Force.

Im sure your the type of guy that would also be the first to moan if we didnt have an Air Force to defend the UK Airspace. I'm also still LOL at the PM Really funny for because the personal attacks don't bother me

Just for your information I grew up around the RAF, I was also in the Army before i became a nurse.

You still haven't justified that kind of tax payers money to be wasted, especially the grunts and like don't get the same privileges

BTW here PM you sent me that i think is so funny

"Are you just so stupid to get it? I think you must be. Or perhaps just so "chubby" you're jealous that you dont experience these things. Who knows. Either way, you're talking total bollocks"

Just to prove that you cannot argue a case, because you revert in insults

Aaaahh I see- I heard of divisions between RAF forces and the forces in the army! Now we have a good example of this!

^ Give me a case. I will argue my point on it verhmently if you argue yours.

Backing it up with cold hard facts, as opposed to personal opinion.

All you've argued in this case is that you think its a waste of money, you've given no justification to that statement, other than more opinion.

Ok - instead of wasting a meal on you - that the British government actually spend the money on the soldiers and equipment

ie a little devise that tell the other Soldiers and British forces that they are allied forces so they don't end up shooting friendly forces. cost about £20-£30 to fit.
adequate body armour cost about £100
Better hospital facilities for wounded soldiers.

Yes i do think the RAF is a spent force, it should be disbanded and moved to the Army and Navy wherever appropriate

is this enough for you to debate whether that type of money should be spent on a meal for graduates

Much as I disslike anything to do with war, if our leaders insist on engaging in it, we must provide the best support we can for those troops on the ground. This the airforce does and they do it well because they are very selective as to who can join and because of the superb training they give. Sure a celebration on the completion of training costs money, but it is the moey those people have earned through their hard work. A party is not necessarily a waste of money it is a great morale booster and brings people together. As an armed force morale and team work are the key to sucess. A party is also a way of saying well done and we all need that. So let's stop moaning about how other people spend their money and go get a life.

In a way i quite agree, Also they get paid to be trained but why should the civilians or noncombatants enjoy their benefits, likewise it isn't their money either it is the tax payers money and i don't think it is money spent wisely

There are millions of public sector workers that have Christmas parties, should these be banned? If an nhs doctor throws a party for his daughter's wedding, should it be banned as it is paid for by money he earned from the government. These airforce officers have to sign up for a minimum period of time, several years, the government effectively owns them. If they want to leave early they have to buy there way out. I think they deserve some fun and to be allowed to spend their money as they see fit. I say their money as Joe said they have to pay into a fund for it over their years of training.
