I know this probably sounds pretty basic but
How much RAM should I have or what amount would be best to keep my Dell Latitude laptop running smoothly when I'm on sites like JUB it seems my laptop slows down or hangs when I'm on JUb and other high info and graphic sites such as x-tube any suggestions would be helpful thanx

It really depends on how much stuff is running in the background of your PC other than your web browser.

Programs, processes etc.

Sometimes it's not just the ram but the processor as well that causes the problems.

I'd assume that 512 MB of RAM would be enough for good internet connectivity on a Windows machine (except Vista which would require at least 1 GB)

It'd help if you give some specs of your machine also the OS you are using. Maybe disabling some unnecessary programs that load on startup and some unused processes will help your speed problem.

Make sure you know what you are disabling tho because u might end up screwing your OS.

There is _NO_ reason not maximizing your RAM when you can since it's so fricking cheap.
Macbook (C2D) has 2 slots, which means 4 gigabytes of ram.

OF course on 32 bit you can have at most have theoretically 4 GB, on 64 it's... lets just say you can't afford to top it ;)

If it's streaming video content then it might not be a RAM issue, it could be your internet provider. are you on dial up, DSL, cable, etc?

it could be your browser also, which browser (IE or firefox, etc) are you using?

Ehm.. OrionFyre.
You telling me, by having Two Modules of 512 each making a total of 1 gigabyte is better for power consumption then..........
Two Modules of......2 gigabytes each making a total of 4 gigabytes?
Doesn't make sense man.

Besides wouldn't the swapping in/out to the HDD increase the power consumption with low ram?

Might be worth opening task manager (ctrl alt del ) and see what is taking the system resources. You might find it is something like Norton!
