Okay, I was just discussing this with some friends, but I thought I'd ask what you guys think:
While Halle Berry was a good Storm for purposes of promotion and moneymaking, I think that when it comes to actually portraying the part of Storm in the movie, Angela Bassett would have been the absolute perfect pick. There has always been an underlying tone of power in the character that Halle Berry just doesn't have and couldn't fake that Bassett somehow just has in her demeanor.

don't get me wrong, i loved halle even with the bad accent but angela would have been impressive!
 
Pragmatic answer: It dosen't matter who they picked because it was a small role and she was only there to be a pair of breasts and a dues ex machina.

i think Halle was a really bad storm...

that was an unintentional really bad pun.
 
I think she was originally offered it and turned it down... or at least someone was. I know Halle Berry wasn't their first choice.
 
I agree that Angela would have made a better Storm.

Halle Berry is too small and just doesn't look like Storm. She's too petite and didn't capture the character down. Storm has a more athletic build has a leadership role with the X-men which I didn't really see in the movies.
 
Angela totally has Storm's type of beauty...it would've been a PERFECT choice! Halle doesn't have the Storm look nor vibe.

Storm is sexy, sensual yet very strong and physical. Halle can't pull the strong and physical part.

I admire Angela Bassett as an actress, however, she seems simply too much older for the part of Storm. Halle Berry, while maybe not stronger, is still a rather capable actress. I was thinking it over and, other than Angela, I can see Grace Jones doing the part. LOL.

Actually, the best answer I've heard, is that the force causes the crystal of Cyttorak to break and Juggernaut breaks his neck because of the loss of his powers. It makes sense, provided you use comic book Juggernaut.

What I always found funny about the movies is this: In the comics, Storm is 5' 10", and Wolverine is 5' 3".
 
I think I remember reading a X-Men novel (Mutant Empire maybe) where Juggernaut charged the Blob. The Juggernaut was stopped upon impact and the Blob moved and inch with his bones shattered.

Though i don't think those books are considered in continuity so who knows.

Oh and I agree Halle is no Storm it should have been given to Angela.
 
The common opinion is that Halle was the worst actress in the trilogy. Storm is supposed to be commanding, authoritative, and confident. Halle was none of those things.
 
Although I love Angela ... I have to say that she is a bit too old for the part... Storm is only in her late 20's even though she carries herself like an older woman mainly because she grew up as a goddess...

Now if you want my opinion... Rupaul would have made a great Storm.. they just needed to give her some acting lessons.
 
the third movie was crap? wtf it was awesome the graphics were amazing and besides all the cool chracters losing powers it was amazing...and kity is awesome even thought she has a lame power

Anyone could have played Storm, because Fox and Marvel didn't won't Storm to over-shadow Wolverine's bankable!! That's why Hugh got the first origins film. All three movie starred Hugh Jackman, which left very little time for any other character. That's Hollywood, and it sucks!!! But I'll always love my Halle!!!!!!!

The origin comic book Storm was created from the image of 70s Super model Iman!! She would have been the perfect storm!!:gogirl:
