I have dark hair--and after seeing mostly dark pubic hair on other guys (although at a distance, like in a locker room), I think some other color would be appealing to me.

One of the strongest memories of the 7th grade PE locker room was seeing a guy with red pubic hair for the first time, and that looked so much interesting than the dark hair I had.

I'll realistically get a boyfriend right about the time Donald Trump becomes the Democratic Nominee for president, but if that were to happen, and this boyfriend had hair like you describe, I don't think I'd mind having to get to close to study his hair. Indeed, I'd probably enjoy the experience.
