Pleasant to the eye, but not all that bright, and a decided lack of penis. 5.

Lex

I would say she is pretty perfect from head to toe. I have seen a number of pictures of her without make-up and I would consider her to be a natural beauty.

^ Before or after the surgeries?

Are wigs, false teeth and breast enhancers considered make-up too?

The pictures were all from before she was a star, maybe 19 or 20, before she was a blonde.

I don't know if she can be considered as not bright. She sure knew how to get ahead in Hollywood.

I think there were other starlets at the time that were prettier.

And she was wearing make-up in them, but you were talking about her in pictures without make up.

And it's not like pictures, unless they are candid ones, all show the "natural" aspect of people...

And who were truly stupid, Lana Turner being the shiniest example of that.

I won't "rate" her, she's one of a kind!
She was half norwegian by her father's side, so that's the secret of her beauty.

Oh, please, all the stupid people talking about how supposedly tupid was Marilyn, about her being a model trapped in an acting career... are the true morons in, out of and around show business...

Depends on what someone is labeling regardin' 'brightness'. A lot of guys don't consider social skills of that nature to be informed by intelligence. They'd be severely mistaken but it is what it is. I thought she took a hit for the inability/refusal to learn lines, m'self. On the other hand her library list is a decent starter rec for careful thought.

But I suspect most people are going by the persona (which tends to be described as lacking intelligence and exuding a kind of innocence-in-naivety) and not the person, so a tad moot.

^ People, by default, always go for the persona: hence the "first impression", the "roles", the "true-to-character" and what not. Celebrities, from a president or prime minister to a YT peddler, are very conscious of that.

It would take a different, more powerful "persona" envelope to make people accept the one they had assumed to be the "true" persona. In any case, it's not so much about "core personae" as about which they are willing to buy and, in the case of Marilyn, they'd rather buy the Loreley persona, rather than the one striving to create definitive art beyond the mere skills of acting, and the bread-and-butter application to the parts given.
