While we are laughing at Tucker Swanson Carlson, this story in USA Today appeared in my newsfeed that says it is no laughing matter. There is something far more sinister, subversive, and dangerous about the intent behind it. In my view, it also feeds right into the pattern of Hitler's "ideal man" white-supremacist, genetic-superiority ideology. We are laughing at how stupid "ball tanning" sounds, but in reality it is a loud hyper-masculine dog-whistle to his Reich-wing troglodytes and an action call to stand up against the LGBTQ, feminist, liberal non-white folk who have somehow turned men "soft" and caused all their problems.

You know how and where this shit ends. We are sitting on the doorstep.

Mark Greene, author of "The Little #MeToo Book for Men," said Carlson's program is normalizing ideas from the manosphere, defined by the Southern Poverty Law Center as "a constellation of anti-women websites, subreddits, blogs and forums." "What I believe Tucker Carlson is doing is he's taking a lot of the recruitment strategies that are out there online for white supremacy and extremist movements and he's bringing them into broadcast television. And this is a big transition for that movement," Greene said.

For accuracy: It's not a transition into broadcast television it's a return to broadcast television.

I did think not you would be the one who does not take seriously the threat from the fascist apocalypse sitting on our doorstep. Cute Nazi uniforms are not where it ends. Think Auschwitz, mass graves, permanent martial law. Think Nazi Germany looked like a garden party compared to what these people want to do....if they're allowed to bring it to the worst case scenario. Is it just too horrible that people cannot take it seriously. This is not a drill and this Tucker video is just one link in the chain that will enslave and strangle us. Republican legislatures are adding links almost daily now. If they take over in November, we're done for. Sieg Heil.
 
Indeed there is an even more fucked-up issue in there, about some supposed ethnic, genetic supremacy: it did not end decades ago, that was just a phase. The fact that even today, in a far tamer way, instead of being acknowledged as the global exception they are, lighter skin, hair and eyes are the core standard assumed even by those supporting "diversity", along with all the cultural standards, including those apparently more abstract and independent of cultural differences like "democracy".

Still, it is funny that the sort of white that can never tan, as hard as they try, are working so hard to make themselves appear "brownier". And even more funnier how those claiming an intellectual supremacy of the white man are the sort of intellects, under their more or less "white" appearance, exhibiting a far closer affinity to those in the heart of Africa or Asia.

That has been going on for ages, actually, it NEVER stopped, and hardly EVER went truly undercurrent, but people would ignore the whistleblowers as if we were hating on the Americans, the white or whatever: if the people who needed a Tucker road show to START conceiving what is to come never wanted to listen to the "bitter, mad" 'us', how do you expect the rest of the "whole wide white world" to even consider the possibility of suspicion.

There is still an even worse part of it all: the rabble-rouser sort who are always behind promoting this sort of devious propaganda are for mit more as a better way of personal promotion and social climbing than as true believers: if they were, they would be too wacky to succeed in their goals. And those willing to take them seriously are the sort who are unable to take anything seriously: they are too thick or stupidly guileless to realize the full implications of what they are actually supporting.

Why do you think I wasn't taking it seriously? I am actually pointing out how easy and horrifying the normalization of hyper-masculinity can be.

The road to this 'ends' when the fascist brownshirts that these movements represent actually get an official uniform and become the thugs for a totalitarian sociopath. It almost happened under Trump with the Proud Boys.

And that 'end' represents the beginning of a thugocracy and state terror as we see in Russia and other criminal regimes right now.

Because, to me, it made it look like a joke or a game. A bunch of fools running around playing Nazi in their smart Hugo Boss uniforms with no real consequences other than being laughed at....like ball tanning. Sorry for misunderstanding. I'm really on edge about this.

What do you mean "normalization" as a process, a work in progress, instead of the secular state of things it actually is: it is precisely the point of those under-masculine rabble-rousers like Tucker or you-know-who who use that sort of language to describe what they consider a threat of "normalization" of everything that shiftes them off the navel of their world view.
