OK, one of my buddies really fooled me with this clip! What's your opinion?

Uh? What am I looking at?

Let me apologize for the misspelled title.

The Antonov AN-225 was destroyed by Russian invasion forces in the Ukraine on 27 February 2022.
I was searching for the date the video was taken when my buddy told me the video is a computer graphic from a video game - the video is a cartoon!

It's still an impressive work, Joe Koely on facebook says: "Fake, A.I. screwed up. it would take a lot longer to land the Antonov, and a helicopter can't stay that still.

Looks fake to me. The angle of landing doesn't make sense.

I actually thought the video was a real landing of the AN-225. Then I noticed the helicopter and the ship - just static images!

It must be a brilliant captain if he can land a super heavy jet in less runway length than you would need for a Cessna.

My "friend" has my neighbors laughing at me because I was fooled by a video clip from a game! All the same, it really is a beautifully done sequence except there needs to be a lot more runway.

You guys have warned me that we are at a time of uncertainty for videos and photos. Hope these are genuine!

who would have thought 119 years ago, in 1906, when the Wright Brothers launched their experimental flyer from Kitty Hawk that we'd be flying these behemouths today

And speaking of experimental, how about the Stratolaunch Roc, a double fuselage aircraft with the widest wingspan of any aircraft ever designed (wider than Howard Hughes "Spruce Goose").

That landing is genuine, you can see the gentle flex of the wings as the gear makes contact. An animator would not be so subtle.
You gentlemen seem to enjoy things that are big, so I have something really huge for you coming soon.

Wow - what a beautiful aircraft. All that wing area allows it tp look like it's gliding rather than powered.

The Flying Bum
is just the nickname, officialy it is the Airlander. There have attempts before to bring back the airship, this one deserves to succeed. The selling point is the really low running cost. Four diesel engines mean not much speed but very low fuel consumption with simple servicing. With this design there is no venting of helium, so no waste of this valuable gas.
Using jets to import fruit and vegetables, like we do now, is insanely wasteful of fuel. Ships are too slow but the airship is ideal. There are all kinds of uses, how about a flying restaurant, there is enough space for a full kitchen and proper tables. Helicopters cost a lot to run, an airship is cheaper, safer and not much slower.160817-largest-plane-mbe-505p.jpgmethode_times_prod_web_bin_50e10fbe-178a-11e9-a1fe-914ccc4953f9-2048x1365.png

The Airlander is the perfect hybrid aircraft capable of air lifting heavy loads for fraction of the cost compared to conventional air transport.
Looks like the Airlander 10 can use any landing spot that has sufficient room!
