there's this really cute guy i see every morning for 5 or ten minutes. i go in the mornings to my math class for help or to finish stuff i missed or just to hang out with my teach who's really cool. this guy has her first period, i have her third but he comes in early like 5 minutes early. i don't know if he's gay or not. on one hand he seems like a jock but isn't but he likes football but he comes into class 5 minutes early before anyone else. when i did that, it was because i had no one to talk to so maybe he's like that. he really doesn't fit the image of your stereotypical loner. then again, i only see him then, he might have all kinds of friends i don't know about. when he comes in its usually just us and the teacher. its been two or three days now and i would like to get to know him more. even if he is straight, i'd settle for friends. what can i say or do to do this without making it obvious or coming on too strong.
 
Are the classes the same? Are they both Algebra II or Calculus 101 or whatever? If so, there's your common ground. "This trig stuff is killing me! How are you taking it?"

If not, use that. "What class are you talking from Ms Smith?"

I'm in a similar situation. There's this really cute kid at my school, but we don't have any classes together. So, what I did is just made a general witty remark that everyone laughed at and waited on his reaction, then included him in the discussion or whatever. Once you make the initial contact, people usually open up a little more - some slower than others, so you may have to take it slow.
 
i'm used to taking it slow. thanks for the advice. i don't know why i didn't realize to talk about the class. it happens to be a class i have trouble in so in getting to know him this could actually benefit me academically as well if he's smart which i think he is.

The guy is hot. Put your best moves on him and see, how he reacts. I understand that he is of legal age.

Do not worry about his being str8 or whatever. You try your best and live with it.
