Mikey - With all due respect for your belief in your Faith, I read your comments and immediately think of:
The Wheels on the Bus
(Anon. Unknown)
The wheels on the bus go round and round,
round and round,
round and round.
[major portions deleted for brevity]
The mummies on the bus say "Shush, shush, shush;
Shush, shush, shush;
Shush, shush, shush."
The mummies on the bus say "Shush, shush, shush"
all day long.

To me, the mummies are the ecclesiastics. Our silence would "rebuild" nothing. And, your arguments are as circular as the wheels.
I like my summertime version better --
floating down the river in a raft, head leaned back against the gunwale, a nice buzz on, one hand on the little cooler holding some more cold beer, spinning around in the eddies and whirlpools, I watch things above me and sing,
"The trees on the river go 'round and 'round...."
