Rebuild My Church

Mikey - With all due respect for your belief in your Faith, I read your comments and immediately think of:

The Wheels on the Bus
(Anon. Unknown)

The wheels on the bus go round and round,
round and round,
round and round.

[major portions deleted for brevity]

The mummies on the bus say "Shush, shush, shush;
Shush, shush, shush;
Shush, shush, shush."
The mummies on the bus say "Shush, shush, shush"
all day long.

To me, the mummies are the ecclesiastics. Our silence would "rebuild" nothing. And, your arguments are as circular as the wheels.

I like my summertime version better --

floating down the river in a raft, head leaned back against the gunwale, a nice buzz on, one hand on the little cooler holding some more cold beer, spinning around in the eddies and whirlpools, I watch things above me and sing,

"The trees on the river go 'round and 'round...." :lol:

...... At least I am working on my own Salvation. .....

Now if I were going to rebuild that is how I would NOT do it. I would think you would concern yourself with the salvation of others. You may be alone up there - whereever there is. Seems a little selfish and self-serving.

Why do I bother with you so-called Christians, you are all absolutely clueless about the Catholic Church. You are Clueless concerning the role of the Popes and the Cardinals in the Church. There is an absolute disregard for all the good the Church has done through out its 2000+ years of history. You are pointing fingers/plucking the beam out of the eyes of the Institutional and Human part of the church without plucking/pointing finger at ones self first. At least I am working on my own Salvation. All who have judged the Church in a negative light, and without any sense of Forgiveness....God has already judged you in the same manner as you have judged his Church, and he has with held his forgiveness (remember the Lords Prayer: Forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who tresspass against us). You have judged the innocents along with the quilty ones the same. This is what I rail against, tghis is what makes me sick to my stomach. Yet, I truly believe that the Catholic Church will eventually rise, and shine rebuilt from all the Modern Chaos of the World run amock by Satan's Legions, and yes, Christ has already won the Victory over 2000 years ago. Earth is not our permanant home, we all are on a Pilgrimage of Life to our Eternal home, and yes,The Institutional Church has to be on that same Pilgrimage. There is always Hope.

I know the roles of the man-made offices of pope and Cardinals.

And I make criticism according to Scripture because one higher than your pope commands it: the Apostle Paul, who bids us judge all things.

Most of your attacks above aren't based on truth at all, but on your own assumptions -- one being that the Roman church is the one true church, when it is in fact one piece of a schism.

Actually on the way, I'd say, based on a lot of different indicators.

My gut sense is that its impact will be greater and more forceful than the Protestant Reformation, which eventually gave us the American Revolution.

We can now say that Pope Francis is in the slow process of Rebuilding the Church, and is using Saint Francis of Asissi Ideals, along with his Jesuit Ideals. It seems that Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI is in amazement of what Pope Francis is doing. So, yes, the Church is being rebuilt from the inside out, and vis versa. Rebuilding the Trust of the laity....Pope Francis knows full well how difficult that will be. The Wheels are already turning from within the Vatican itself.

He seems to believe that giving to the poor will solve our problems. I see no evidence that he realizes that excess population growth cause poverty and is doing so a a rate which cannot be solved by charity. The Catholic Church has no moral compass. It cannot tell the difference between right and wrong, and never has been able to. It tortured and burned witches and heretics throughout the Middle Ages. It turned a blind eye to the abuse resulting from its celibacy. And today it causes poverty and suffering with its absurd prohibition of contraception, for no good purpose. Francis shows every sign of perpetuating the prohibition, and cannot see the how wrong it is. He may destroy, but there is no chance he can rebuild. He is the problem, not the solution.
