If you didn't send it, then yes, it's possible it is a virus or malware.

Either that or someone could have accessed your account?

Do the messages say anything specific, or are they just random?

Oh, changed your password to! Make it hard to guess. Get a good antivirus program and anti-spyware program too.

Are you using a mail program or accessing your Yahoo mail account through the website?

Do the mails just display your (user)name or your full own mail address?

I always send emails to myself, otherwise I never remember what my shifts are or the things I have to do.

every part of an e-mail header is fakeable. it's most likely just spam.

LOL! It's the future version of your friend trying to warn his present self of events in his life, or telling him what stocks to invest it!

But really, the sending date can be changed at the sender's end (you can do the same thing with changing your PC's clock) and spammers usually do this to try and push their mail to the top of an E-mail list display since many people sort "by date". They figure it'll always get the first position.

It is possible that what has happened is that someone who has your email address in their contacts list has the virus and it is coming from their computer ... I doubt that the emails will contain any viruses but to be on the safe side then I would suggest you do a virus scan and a scan for spyware/adware.

Yeah I have been getting emails from myself about Pills or Medicine. I know damn well I have no virus on my computer as I do scans on my computer so its just a really clever spam bot also friends are also sending me emails with [No Subject] in the subject line.

That happened to my house mate recently he got a email from a female friend desperately pleading for money because she was stranded in London. I pointed out that I didnt think she was in London because her husband was having a sex change in Thailand. A quick call to the US found out yes she was in Thailand and all in her mailing list were alerted. Strange but true.

It's been awhile since I reinstalled Windows. I'll probably do that, too.

Dont worry about it too much piggy but it doesnt hurt to clean the system

piggy i think it's likely the messages only look like they are coming from your account. does your email account show them in the sent messages also? if not i think it's spam and they are faking your email address. it isn't likely actually coming from your account. i certainly don't think you need to reinstall windows for just this.
