I just moved to Portland, and there's this huge video store with an amazing gay/lesbian-themed film section.

Angels in America is ..| Other good gay films are Get Real and Boy Culture. Dunno if they have series as well at your video store, if so you should try out Queer as Folk if you haven't seen it. Both the British and the American versions are good.

I definately agree with:

Angels in America
Latter Days
Maurice

Latter Days

The Trip (I love Larry Sullivan. I love reading his Myspace blogs. He's really down to earth, which makes me love the movie even more. I hope that doesn't me sound weird, lol)

Yossi and Jagger (extremely short, but beautiful in all its shortness. Definitely would have been happy with more though v_v)

Beautiful Thing

Eating Out (It's fun and sexy. Good if you want a light movie. I don't recommend the sequel though. It has no plot, and leaves you wondering what happened to make it such a flop).

Sommersturm (aka Summer Storm)

The Rules of Attraction

The Opposite of Sex

Loving Annabelle (If you want to be a dissector, it's a lesbian flick, but great in its entirety)

Hmmmm.....Raspberry Reich is also pretty decent, despite the fact it can be considered a comedic porn flick. It has some pretty hot scenes, and yet still is a decent comedy with some interesting ideals (or at least to me, considering I'm not really much of a political person).

I would for Marco Dapper.

Meh, I did originally watch it because I saw the screenshots of him, and was hoping it would be as decent as the first, but even with him and his prosthetic penis (or at least that's what I've read) I don't recommend watching it. A person might as well save themselves the couple of dollars renting it and pull up the scenes on Youtube or something.

"Victim" 1961 - gay actor plays the gay lead character

"The Killing of Sister George" 1968 - lesbian June/December relationship
(1st film to recieve an X rating - Bette Davis wanted to play the Title role in this film)

"Outrageous!" 1977 - female impersonator Craig Russell plays female impersonator lead character in a story based on his life

"Taxi zum Klo"(Taxi to the Toilet) 1981 - gay teacher plays himself in a story about his life written and directed by him.

"Bent" 1997 - I don't care what anyone says I like Mick jagger as an actor in and out of drag. Ian McKellan is pretty cute in this too.

"Paragraph 175" 2000 - documentary interviews of survivors of the Nazi persecution of homosexuals

"The Einstein of Sex" 2000

"Kinsey" 2004 - not a gay film strictly speaking

"Lola & Bilidikid" 1999

"Proteus" 2003 - Interacial love between two South African convicts in the 18th century based on historical records of one such relationship.

Oh, I also watched Small Town Gay Bar, which was a pretty decent documentary regarding two gay bars in very rural areas of Mississippi.

I was watching a movie called the 24 th hour with James Madsen and Scott tredway it was pretty good.

guys, what's wrong with you, why's nobody said "But I'm a Cheerleader!" what a great movie.

Oh, and def check out "Broken Heart's Club: a romantic comedy" also, it's genuinely good.

I've seen most of the films mentioned and a good chunk of them aren't very good at all. It's a matter of personal taste, for sure, but in general I wouldn't recommend many of the films being suggested to you, OTP.
