Recording Academy blows GLAAD off, calls Buju Banton's gay-murder lyrics

The liberal elite will continue to throw us under the bus. Get used to it.

^This sort of thing only works with the few who already probably agree.

Think outside the box, for once. What might grab America's attention? Really?

I take it, then, that 'hate speech' isn't covered under the new 'hate crime' legislation?

You don't have a chance fighting it if it is still legal and protected under (or, at least, hidden behind) the Constitution.

Support GLAAD, enabling them to run a public service annoucement during the Grammy's decrying violent and gay bashing lyrics.

Not watching the show makes no difference to the ratings, unless you are a "Nielsen household," the people who either have rating boxes attached to their TVs or who fill out diaries for the Neilsen ratings.

The most one could do is send an e-mail or letter to the American Academy of Recording Artists and protest the nomination.

A protest outside the theater would be pointless, unless it was really massive, e.g. perhaps a thousand or more people.

Mirror his lyrics with the protest you plan on having.

cover yourselves in blood. Hang some of yourselves upside down, to illustrate the "skinning", have people lie on the ground with bullet wounds in their head, have people blinded in one eye.

Ge beds, have couples, both lesbian and gay rittled with "bullets" and lying dead in their beds embracing eachother...

Show people with some catastrophic art, and on your signs put "We're glad the Grammy's support cultural perspective"

That would probably garner some attention.
Oh, and when y'all asked to leave for your atrocious display of what his lyrics are, ask... "what about our cultural perspective, and our freedom of speech?"

He'll probably like that. Bloody savage he is.

The Recording Academy's response that "It takes tolerance to teach tolerance..." is pretty incredible. Obviously, in that very few people would tolerate such brutality. But also in that it's wildly condescending to Buju. Perhaps the RA has an intuition that Buju is an imbecile worthy of such patronage.

^^I suspect that, if he wrote a song suggesting that Jews, people of color, Asians or Muslims be killed, he wouldn't have even been considered for a nomination.

So tolerence apprears to extend only to invitations to kill gay people.
