Referring to the top of this thread Can someone tell me what the gay scene is like in Virginia I'm thinking of moving.

It was pretty open around the Virginia Beach area. There's one gay bar in town, The Rainbow Cactus. It's pretty jumping. There's also one about 30 minutes away in Norfolk. I don't recall the name. I went to a foam party at the one in Norfolk. You get a lot of Navy boys coming in. I can't really say about any other areas.
