I think a lot of people just need to remember that these men are, for all intents and purposes, actors. Actors are not neccessarily anything like the roles they play. For porn actors there's a lot more "action" involved in the acting, but at the end of the day it's still acting to some degree.
One of my favorite Simpsons Halloween episodes had a guest appearance from Lucy Lawless where the Comic Book Guy captured her for his collection of characters. I am against g4p for a number of reasons, but the main reason is that most of the time you see it in their performances. In nearly case I've seen a bad performance, it's been from a g4per. It's not sex. It's gay sex, and there's a difference. People say, "It doesn't make a difference. Who cares??" If I can tell that the person is straight when he's performing, it does matter. IF performers are just having sex, they're not doing it right. There is an authenticity that you get from two gay men. Yes, there are exceptions. As others have pointed out, it is not only disturbing that the gay porn industry perpetuates homophobia through this marketing hoax, but it is worse that some (albeit a minority of gay men) choose to ratify it by going along with the unhealthy marketing myth. It is one thing to tolerate the lie that these guys are actually straight, quite another thing to go along with it and pretend that they are lying or in deep denial.

I would take that with a grain of salt. I'm not saying it's untrue, but many g4pers will claim to be bisexual and say they go on dates or have sex with men off set even though it's not true.
