And I didn't even know Lance Bass was gay until three days ago. I mean, I knew he was gay a decade ago, but I didn't know that he'd come out this past June until a couple of days ago as I've said, and apparently everyone was so completely unsurprised and underwhelmed that a B-list popstar boyband member is gay that I'm just now hearing about it.

Actually admit is the correct term, since two definitions http://education.yahoo.com/reference/dictionary/entry/admit of admit are "to grant to be real, valid, or true; acknowledge: admit the truth. Also, To grant as true or valid, as for the sake of argument; concede." In this case, Lance Bass admitted the truth that most of us had already known for some time...
