Reid commits to DADT vote. Obama ups the pressure

Thanks scream the "From the Hill" segment attached to the article is quite informative.

I watched that video a few times. Lots of great nuggets of info :)

have never seen any video from advocate.com

really good

love the line that suggests that gays have no where to go - that the dems sorta own us

The dems dont own the "gays", but we are probably one of the most powerful groups within the democratic party now.

Equality is spreading through America faster than you can say refudiate, so our clout will only grow.

so i just finished watching that video...and i meant to edit my earlier post but i cant now...

i tend to agree that if democrats are good at anything its missing golden opportunities.

if democrats cant get this done with majorities in congress, the public, the military, its time to start supporting other candidates.

at least the GOP can run the senate with only 41 senators. who needs a filibuster when you have mitch McConnell licking corporate Americas ass.

Lets do a little horse trading here, take the two issues that have enough popular support behind them and go with them, Obama/Reid should go to the Republicans and say give us DADT and we'll give you the 2 year extension of all the tax cuts, its a win win.

I'm just a political dabbler but everyone been critizing Obama for reaching out to the other side, well I think that is what you should be doing. His problem is he is giving too much and not making sure there quid pro quo. I think just part of his inexperience showing.

lol the GOP wont give democrats an inch, they want the whole mile without compromising anything.

remember they (the gop) are FILIBUSTERING a defense spending bill, but somehow democrats are "soft".

republicans think they can dictate policy, and democrats have to stop letting them.

what is the GOP excuse for stopping the bill? they want to cut the deficit? they want to cut military pay? Yep, as long as DADT is in the bill.

i think when you DON'T control something you can be Dr. No - as in obstructionist

but by winning the House in midterms ........ there is now pressure to produce - ideas and legislation

reasonable people who had had enough of the dem agenda will now look to the repubs for action

and if they sit on the sidelines and throw stones .........

they will pay the price in 2 years
