Reid now hold 7 point lead against Angle

You keep coming back with the "Democrats did it..... Democrats did it.......Democrats did it" defense.

Given the dramatic increase in scale and scope of the filibuster, I'm reminded of an alcoholic defending himself by say "I saw you have some wine with dinner!"

Bush needed to be shot. In a perfect world, the military would have looked at the orders to go to Iraq, recognized them as immoral and illegal, and sat still while telling Congress the CiC was not fit to live, let alone serve as President.

You can't be serious? Your just as bad as those nuts who hate President Obama because "he's nothing but a black Muslim from Kenya". Civilian control over the military is a major reason we've been able to survive so long with a presidential system. President Bush was the commander in chief armed forces and elected leader of the executive branch of the republic, you can't at least accord him some amount of respect? I'll also note the irony in your complaint in this regard when President Bush lost the popular vote back in 2000 and was only elected because of the electoral college system (which I support) which you have (a bit melodramatically) declared to be essential to the survival of this republic.

And the last thing any democracy, republic, etcetera wants is to have the military determining who among elected officials is 'fit to live' and declaring so publicly. That tends to actually spell the end of republics.

No, wait -- in a perfect world, Bush would never have been elected, we wouldn't have offended Muslims often enough to stir up an Al Qaeda, the Twin Towers would still be standing....

Two of the major grievances they have against us are our support for Israel, which won't and shouldn't change regardless of whose president, and our troops in Saudi Arabia, a mission for which they were invited by the House of Saud in its official capacity as rulers of Saudi Arabia. Wouldn't have mattered who's president for that either. I agree that in a perfect world there'd be no Al Qaeda and the Twin Towers would still be standing, I disagree with the insinuation that it's the fault of any specific president or set of presidents.

Bush abused his authority and the constitution.

can anyone really say that he didn't?

Bush and Cheney took the constitution and wiped their asses with it. Their excuse always was "for national security purposes".

There was never a more corrupt Presidency (Reagan & Bush senior besides) than W's.

How did Sharron Angle blow an 11-point lead on Harry Reid in seven weeks?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/csm/20100728/ts_csm/316758_1

I thought this may be of interest.

“Not only do majorities of voters see each candidate unfavorably, the number of those who regard them ‘very’ unfavorably is high – 48 percent for Reid and 41 percent for Angle. Fifty percent of voters say Reid's views are extreme compared to 41 percent who say they are mainstream, with 8 percent undecided. Fifty-eight percent consider Angle's views extreme while 37 percent put her in the mainstream, with 6 percent unsure.”

It's kind of a what not to do playbook.

first lets get the numbers clear.

if reid is now 7 points ahead, and was 11 behind that is an 18 point shift.

that means one in five people that used to support angle now support reid.

why is simple. Americans want moderation and communication between their politicians. they want the obstruction to end, and if you seem to act abstructively as angle does with the press, then you will not get votes.

I believe that the registered republicans are ashamed of the obsrtuctionism that their party has been engaging in, because they personally have beliefs and wonder why they are not being fought for.

as long as the party that has dedicated itself to stopping gay rights progress is being harmed, I am for it, especially when it is they who are shooting themselves in their collective feet.

CowboyBob -- YOU'RE MY NEW HEROE. GW was not only corrupt be he was a frigging idiot, really an IQ less than a donkey. Cheney is fresh out of Nazi Germany. What a team, and as you said, always wrapped in what's best for "national security". I wish more people would get informed so they could recognize the depth and breadh of fear mongering that GW's administration perpetuated on the american public.

In reality it's well established that GWB had an IQ about the same as JFK.

One wonders what he did with the 50 points he didn't use at the White House (chopping wood, maybe?).

Cheney is too slick and classy for Nazi Germany. He's more USSR, upper-level KGB material -- suave, charming, urbane... putrescent, toxic, amoral.

"Thirty-one* states allow all qualified citizens to carry concealed weapons. In those states, homosexuals should embark on organized efforts to become comfortable with guns, learn to use them safely and carry them. They should set up Pink Pistols task forces, sponsor shooting courses and help homosexuals get licensed to carry. And they should do it in a way that gets as much publicity as possible. "

has anyone read of any new polls in this nevada race recently?

besides the daily ones? any credible long event polls?

one more seat that the repubs could have won, had they not allowed this teabagger movement to hijack their party.

after this election, the republicans are going to have to do some soul searching.

I also want to say that this is before the NAACP/ TEABAGGER spat began. Reid has been gaining momentuum for a while now in the polls.

it is still a long way till the election, but I think Angle will not recover. Angle is the gift that the republicans allowed the teabaggers to give to the democrats in the senate.

Must be the new math, but according to Rasmussen, Reids advantage as of July 28th was only 2 points. Unless of course someone can tell me how 45-43 =7................................

Unless of course Angle has started the recovery that she wasn't supposed to be able to accomplish.

I suppose this example of vacuous rhetoric above is supposed to be taken as political commentary. Not sure I would have made any references to i.q. considering the content of the post. I guess it would be pointless to ask for documentation.

I always say Gun Control is hitting your target!!!!(!)

Bush abused his authority and the constitution.

can anyone really say that he didn't?

I can, show me the impeachment proceedings that showed he did!;)

Btw, I think overall Bush was a disgrace from a conservative point of view. When I was in YAF,(look it up) we called philosophical nebishes like Bush a squish!

Ummmm, see above!
don't act like a chump. I asked a simple question and there are no recent polls lised here and I would like for this thread to get back on topic.

If you have a NEW poll please link to it.

I've never said otherwise. However, you need to man up and recognize the fact that what they're doing isn't new, and it certainly is not without precedent.

The filibuster is most certainly not being abused. Especially considering the raft of legislative garbage that Il Duce Obama is calling an agenda along with his henchman Reid, and his bitch in chief Pelosi.:p

I remember YAF in college. We used to call it "Young Americans for Fascism."
