I'm not in favor of abolishing the Senate.

However, I have written before in various threads, including one of my own making, is that the authority of the Senate be removed from considering legislation that impacts all citizens individually. For instance, how could some Republican redneck bigots from the Great Plains, who represent but a tiny fraction of the American people, be allowed to block civil rights legislation?

It's ridiculous, and something I believe the founding fathers overlooked.

They didn't overlook it, they just thought the important thing was to protect states' rights by having a house where they're equal.

I'm tired of the will of the people being subverted, and then the people subverting it are blaming the people who are actually writing bills and coming up with ideas.

republicans and conservatives in congress have no nuts. If you are going to grind the government to a halt whenever possible, then own what you have done.

If we see the democrats keep their majority, we will also see the filibuster rule changed.

if it is not gotten rid of then it needs to be of the same parr that the veto override is....two thirds.

You realize that once the GOP eventually get their majority, the DNC is going to filibuster every single bill they ever put to floor in a complete reversal of current reality. The Dems don't have the balls to just get it over with and do away with it, but the second you tell the GOP congressmen that they can't get a single piece of legislation through, ever (much like now), is the day the filibuster will fall.

If not now, just wait until the shoe is on the other foot, because the GOP will not tolerate these shenanigans like the Dems will. The filibuster is dead in a very few short years.

The propoganda keeps spewing out of the sewer to save the water supply. Only time will tell at this point, but with the growing unemployment rate in Nevada, the people there would have be crazy to nail their own coffin with another term for old Harry.

Angle started high and has consistently had a slide in the polls. that means the voters do not like the closer view they are getting and are forming their opinions against her solidly.

Anyway, folks: I live in Nevada, and I'm here to tell you that Sharron Angle is one scary ho.

She wants to completely phase out Social Security, Medicare, and they have her on tape saying,"It's not my job to find jobs for people."

If she were a Democrat, I'd vote Republican before I'd vote for her, and I mean it.

she was a gift from the teabaggers to the senate democratic leadership.
