Remember Pernell Roberts from Bonanza and then Trapper John MD.
Always thought on Trapper John that he was such a hot daddy. Hard to believe he is 81 now .
Here are some pics from his trapper john days and a pic from "battle of the network stars" 1981 that makes my mouth water. he is in a dunk tank and look at that box. Ive included the link to the video of him getting in and getting all that fur wet .woof

He's pretty much a recluse... hated being an actor and doesn't want anyone to bother him. He's heavily involved in charities, etc.

i dont know anything about him hating acting and i mean he is 81 now so i could understand wanting to be left alone but in his day he was well liked and very sociable and oh so handsome and sexy. im glad hes involved in charities...

as far as any recent pics ,there arent any that ive been able to find. he quit acting in 1997,his last role was a 1997 guest spot on the dick van dyke show diagnosis murder -there arent any pics of him from that show that i could find. the most recent thing i found was a video clip on youtube from most wanted - fbi stories -he was the host and its from 1991. other than that all pics i could find were from 1986 and earlier

When he left Bonanza, he thought offers would just come pouring in, but nothing did until many years later. (Even then, on Trapper John, Gregory Harrison became the de facto star of the show , not Roberts). He was the David Caruso of his time.
 
When Trapper John came on TV I was an avid watcher, only because Pernell Roberts was so damn hot! There was an episode that I particularly remember because there was a scene (2-3 minutes) where he was walking around his house in just pajama pants, no shirt. why did they take down 2 of the pics i posted of him.,
roberts left bonanza because he was tired of playing a middle aged man who still lived with his dad and brothers and called his dad PA all the time. as for trapper john , harrison was a hottie that became popular with women and gay guys but roberts was still the star and got the emmy nominations. harrison left to do movies and didnt really break out either. i dont think roberts cared about superstardom anyway and was content with what success he had.

man i was watching more of the battle of the network stars from the 80's and he was in a kayak race in a swimming pool wearing nothing but white speedos fucking hot .. let me find the clip and watch him get in and out of the kayak ..what a hot fucking daddy. here is the clip , watch from 3:39 to 4:34 , damn he was hot .

Nomination aside, Harrison was the one that got some fame from the show and overshadowed Roberts. But I do remember Pernell Roberts being an early daddy crush of mine. I'd really forgotten about him since he hasn't really done anything since. Interesting to hear about the Caruso comparison
