Hello,

Today I decided to remove my back/shoulder hair. I tried two different ways:

- Trimmer
- Shaving

Trimmer worked okay for the shoulders, but not for my back. So I used a razor fo rmy back. It took a few hours, and fairly exhausting.

I went in the shower a few times to wash my back and what not. But in the end I think I did an OKAY job. But I didn't leave un scared. I got some nasty razor burns. I applied some stuff to my stuff afterwards, but now it's just red. So I applied some lotion which seems to be doing its thing.

So I'm wondering. Any easier way I can do it? Shaving with a razor was just so time consuming, and clumsy.

Waxing is the most effective method of removal. Because it is pulling the hair out versus cutting it at the surface, it is more lasting and the hair tends to feel less bristly as it grows out.

An aesthetician at a salon can wax your back for a reasonable cost. Most men have it done every 1-2 months.

I am very hairy and leave it as is, most of my friends are into hairy guys and its more to my advantage then trying to do something about it.

The only suggestion I have would be to either get a friend to help or go to a salon.

I've never shaved my back because I've heard it really itches growing back and it grows back coarser and hairyer after shaving, there is also an increased risk of ingrown hairs which are very uncomfortable and this can lead to boils.

I don't criticize here I was just giving my reasons for not shaving for myself. I've had friends that have shaved and this has been my observations of them.

Ive heard of 'sugaring' but dont really know much about it.

Laser removal is the way to go (if you can afford it).

If you aren't allergic to it, the cheapest is Duct Tape... Really. It's not any more painful than waxing and a hell of a lot cheaper. And all you need is a friend to help you out.

If you are fair skinned, a couple of things to be aware of. Laser will not work, as it requires pigment somehow to be effective. Waxing your chest, back, ass, etc. can make you break out. For myself the folliculitis (?) and irritation looks worse and feels so much worse than the hair. I use electric clippers, or have to have help and because my back hair is fine, I only do mebbe once a month. I use the same electric razor on my chest and arms that I use on my face daily, and works great. If I could reach my back, I would use do it, too.

YOu can do laser, but it does not permanently take away the hair. It will leave your hairless for about 2 months and then the grows back. After many treatments (10 or more), there may be a reduction in the amount of hair. But the hair on the upper back and shoulders will grow back. The treatment is very painful. Any harmful side effects are unknown to date.

You can try electrolosys too. it supposedly works bette,r but is slow.

Thanks for all the replies!

I'm just trying some different things out. Thought I'd see what it was like to eliminate hair on my shoulders and back. I'm fairly hairy to begin with, and to be honest would look awful with zero body hair. So my chest, arms, and everything waste down still has hair. I only trim under arms and around my penis. Though, I do like shaving my shaft and balls on occasion.

Overall, I like the look of no hair on my shoulders and back. Shaving though is NOT the way to do it. I just grow hair back too fast. Already have a good amount back already, but I guess it's no surprise since I regrow hair very fast. Plus my shoulders got extremly bumpy and irratated.

Waxing sounds like a good idea. What would be a good price to do it? Any way to do it at home, or not a good idea? Laser is something I would consider, but I'm sure that's fairly expensive.

Try one of those hair removal creams. I use Veet. Get a friend to apply it, leave it on for 3-5 minutes then rinse it off. Easy peasy!

I use Nair for Men. Since my back hair is fairly fine I only need to do it every month or so.

I use the body cream. It can stay on for about 10 min. Since I apply the cream myself it takes some time. I can't reach the middle of my back, so I use an old kitchen spatula to reach that part.
The spray on version sucks.

I have hairy legs and use Nair on them. Try this for your back.

I'm still trying to figure out how you were able to shave your own back.#-o

How does everyone get rid of their back hair and bum area , i hate having it
and would like to have it gone, id be very embarrassed to have someone in a salon do it.

Waxing is the best method for me. Get it done once a month. The initial first wax is torture on that particular area but after that it's much, much less painful and my skin stays smooth. Wash with a ben peroxide on back and ass (arse, bum, culo) to keep the pimples away. Waxing I found is actually good for skin because it exfoliates the dead skin cells and have nice, clear skin.

On other parts (chest, abs, thighs) use a depilatory (dissolving creams). That lasts about a good month and to keep it continually smooth just use an electric razor or a razor with a lot of shaving cream... again, use ben peroxide to wash and then a moisturizing soap after.:gogirl:..|

thanks for all that who does the waxing for u?

Got some Nair and tried it.

Results are... okay.

I'm going to have someone apply it to my back. It wasn't all that great trying to reach back there. A little of the stuff got on my nipple, and just burned it up something awful.

I'm fine in the other areas, and I'm guessing that next time will be a lot more smoother.
