Republican admits getting homeless to run as Green Candidates.

You all do know that ACORN was cleared of all charges, and ALL of the fraudulent charges people made were proven to be just that. LIES!

But because Americans have the attention span of a flea, they never paid attention once they were cleared, and by then it was too late. The Congress cut off all their funding, even though it was proven they had done no wrong. Why can't Congress do this to Haliburton who has fucked the American people over and over and over again? Tragic!

ACORN was found not to have engaged in any criminal act. http://www.wpix.com/news/wpix-acorn-criminal-wrong-doing,0,144032.storyThat doesn't exactly make them eligible for sainthood. Congress did the right thing in cutting them off. Haliburton is a multi-billion dollar corporation, ACORN wasn't.

Who has money to give to politicians to make sure they stay in office? That's why they will stay perpetually in favor no matter who is running the government.

It's not only not cute, but illegal. So how does getting somebody on the ballot tamper with an election exactly? Isn't giving the people more choices a good thing? Or should both parties have a lock on the entire electorate? That model hasn't been working all that well, wouldn't you agree?

But if these candidates are being picked by a Republican and not the Green party isn't there something wrong with that?

The people who actually signed the petition got him on the ballot. Not some lone republican who thought it might be fun. There's a good bit involved in getting your name on a ballot. If the greens are organized enough, they can deny him the party line and make him run as an independent. I'm guessing there isn't any real organized green party where this guy is running. More choices is always better in politics.

If there isn't really any Green Party there, why not have these people run under a non-established party name like the Yellow Party? If you are having people run under a known leftist party line and you come from the right, I don't understand what your motive could possibly be. Just providing more voting choices seems to me to be a disingenuous reason.

its election tampering republican style... dirty and underhanded.

May has been honest and open about what he's done. I guess I don't share your apparent belief that democrat voters are easy to get over on. If it's this easy to pull the wool over these folks eyes, maybe they shouldn't be voting?

Steve May, is gay. One of my very good friends also sleeps with him on occasion. He is a Republican, and a former military dude. He's gaming the system. If Arizonans are that damn dumb (and they are) so be it. But he is cute in person if you haven't met him. However, I can't say I agree with his rather immoral choices.

He's hideous on the Internet. All the pictures I see him in he looks constipated.

I wish we were allowed to throw away our state citizenships because I so would be just an American with no state allegiance.

That's an interesting question. In most places, ballot access isn't a simple matter; you either run on the ticket of a party that already has ballot access, or you mount a massive campaign to get outlandish numbers of people to sign petitions to get your party on the ballot.

Personally, I'd make ballot access simple: pony up ten bucks for every person registered under your party (minimum 1000) and you're in. With the Big Two doing that, it might even pay for elections.

But if it's easy, since one of these guys is homeless, he should run on the Sidewalk Party ticket. The other could run on the Yard Party ticket.

and a college kid could run on the Frat Party ticket

Point of Information:

Under Arizona law, getting ballot status requires 20k signatures, and there have to be some from every county. At present, Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, and most recently Greens have standing ballot access by virtue of the number of voters registered to their parties -- once you've done the signatures, having 1% of registered voters register in/for/as your party keeps your status.

So for fun, someone with enough bucks could mount a petition campaign to get a Publican Party on the ballot, and then recruit a series of conspiracy theory enthusiasts as candidates. It would drive the GOP bonkers......

You must think that Democrats are dumb. Oh wait.......

Well and of course it's not the Democrats who will be fooled. Democrats will vote for the Democratic Candidate.

However, supporters of the Green Party, if there is no Green Party candidate to support, will almost always choose the Democratic Party over the Republican Party.

And THAT is the real issue.... is giving Green Party supporters a "fake" candidate to support as a way of trying to take votes.

But being a Republican, you're clearly not quite smart enough to understand that. I guess I could draw you a pie chart....

On that we can agree. I don't know what is more frustrating, that americans accept this as an OK thing to do and even take up for it, or that there are people out there stupid enough to go for it.

I am a firm believer in the responsibility of the voter to educate themselves on the issues at hand, and when they don't it is always a head ponding moment for me, because it is just so easy to read up for an hour a week to know whats going on.

How many americans even vote now?

I think the Press made a big deal out of the fact that more than half of the voters turned out in the last election.

Half is a victory for the nation?

And yet those ones that aren't showing up are the very same whiners everytime that NEVER vote.

maybe this is a good way to see just who is voting for whom, and why.

BUT...lol

Intentionally sabotaging a party, not your own, by registering candidated to run in a party, not your own, is pretty lowdown, and manipulative of the process, and shows the people of america just how desperate the republicans have become to try ANYTHING for a litttle power.

They are like crack whores on the street promising and doing anything, no matter how dishonest to get a rock of power back.

pathetic.
