Republican candidate 'body-slams' Guardian reporter in Montana

Ah yes...another extreme right wing Christian...and look at his record....

Well he's already under investigation for financial reporting and starts out with an assault charge because he couldn't stand being asked about the healthcare bill he is supporting.

Well done Montana.

Fortunately none of this prevented the Republican from winning easily. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...ing-assault-charge-wins-special-election.html
I think most voters realized that the democrat reporters aggressively shoving the mic in his face was an aggravation.
"Shaun Scott, a computer science professor at Carroll College in Helena, said the assault charge was barely a factor in his decision.

"If you have somebody sticking a phone in your face, a mic in your face, over and over, and you don't know how to deal with the situation, you haven't really done that, you haven't dealt with that, I can see where it can ... make you a little angry," Scott said Thursday."

This is not "fortunate" even if the reporter did what you're saying, it doesn't justify his actions either. Why are you for an authoritarian state? The gymnastics you do to justify violence is disgusting.

Oh heavens, not an aggravation. That poor congressman.

Obviously, he responded with the sort of sophistication and good judgment we should expect from a representative.

It's not as though his job entails patient reasoning in high-pressure situations.

Honestly this is starting to make me sick to my stomach, especially the people defending it. When they are usually the ones complaining about "violent" protesters but of course in this case the violence is justified.

I just have no words for how embarrassing, scary and fucked this all is.

You need to it in the context that Republicans at town hall meetings, school commencements, and press conferences have been confronted with organized efforts to silence and shout down Republicans. Press conferences degenerate into shouting matches; asking question, not for answers but to argue the reporters own agenda as loudly as possible.. Here, Jacobs may not have gotten physical, but his in-the-face mic and repeated demands appear to be part of the same pattern. At least, that is why Republicans are willing to accept the candidate's reaction.

They defend it because the Republican party is turning into fascists.

They defend it because the Republican party is turning into fascists.

They still believe their own narrative so in their eyes Americans are applauding them...no clue how horrified people actually are. It doesn't matter what they see...their leader has pointed out if it doesn't please them..it is simply fake.

Anyone with a conscience is horrified at what is unfolding...

Big picture Ben...down to the small one we saw yesterday as it is part of a very real big picture that is NOT going to do well...in the end...it may even ruin your party permanently when the damage is done and the dust clears.......time will tell...

I realize you are not among the horrified....you would not ever understand....we are way past political lines despite your derail...

What does this have to do with a Republican Politician physically ATTACKING a reporter?

Also this is not a party issue, no one in any party would get a free pass.
It does explain why Republicans do not see it as a controlling issue. The democrats and democrat press are trying to shut down the democratic process by shutting down town hall meetings and turning press conferences into shouting matches. If a candidate loses his tempers and lashes back it is not nice, but understandable.

You opinion might have validity if you had expressed even a tiny bit of disapproval of the closing down of the town hall meetings or the howling matches passing as press conferences.

Yes, that was truly horrible the way the Koch funded Tea Partiers disrupted town halls. Shameful. [-X

Just Shameful....

— Artificially Inflate Your Numbers: “Spread out in the hall and try to be in the front half. The objective is to put the Rep on the defensive with your questions and follow-up. The Rep should be made to feel that a majority, and if not, a significant portion of at least the audience, opposes the socialist agenda of Washington.”
— Be Disruptive Early And Often: “You need to rock-the-boat early in the Rep’s presentation, Watch for an opportunity to yell out and challenge the Rep’s statements early.”
— Try To “Rattle Him,” Not Have An Intelligent Debate: “The goal is to rattle him, get him off his prepared script and agenda. If he says something outrageous, stand up and shout out and sit right back down. Look for these opportunities before he even takes questions.”

You beat me to it.....I would have changed Tea Partiers to the more appropriate Teabaggers because I like imagining them licking the Koch Boy's and Cheney's Smelly Balls...

...and I like to imagine what President Schwan-Poo Tiny Hands makes his whole staff lick (or eat)....
