There must be a full moon out as the right wing wackos are crazier than ever.

The charming Susanne Atanus, a republican hopeful for Illinois' 9th Congressional District (Chicago's far north side and suburbs) spoke about how angry God is because of gay marriage, civil unions and abortions. She claimed tornadoes and autism and dementia are punishments from God because of recent advances in the LGBT movement .

In a previous questionnaire for ABC Chicago, Atanus also suggested she does not believe in global warming and she claims the stock market crash of 1929 never actually happened.

What can one say about an insane person like this? Are republicans really going to vote for someone like this?

She even looks like the Devil possessed her. Don't worry, she will be dragged of to Hell soon enough.

What, again, is the difference between these people and the ones who would say something like an emergency landing by the Columbia or Hurricane Katrina were because of gay people?

She isn't the problem...the people who would vote for her after hearing that are the real problem...especially the gay ones.

Well she has this election locked up.

She is an example of punishment from God.

Every day has a full moon as far as right wing wackos are concerned.

I could say plenty, but I'd get banned from JUB. :help:

I will say this:
  • The 9th Congressional District has voted Democratic (sorry, Jack) since 1949.
  • Atanus ran in the 9th District’s Republican primaries in 2010 and 2012. She lost both times.
  • The 9th Congressional District helped to elect Carol Mosely Braun in 1992. (a liberal Democrat and woman of color.)
I'm surprised she didn't blame Pres. Obama for something!

The party with the big tent does not seem to be attracting women, Hispanics, poor people, immigrants, blacks, Muslims, or gays.

But it's a magnet for people who hate any of the above.

Is that why tornadoes really hit places like Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, and Alabama so hard?

Why aren't Massachusetts, California, Maryland, New York, and other places in Tornado Alley? Oh, OK - of course God us using a DROUGHT to punish Californians. I see.

I thought that God's way - if He really IS the malevolent and wrathful being that some want us to believe - was to directly punish the "sinners."

There was once a time, and not all that long ago, that I could have been persuaded to vote Republican "at the top." I was pretty pissed off at Clinton in late 1996, and it didn't have anything to do with a blue dress. No, his gung-ho support of NAFTA, ending "Welfare as [the poor] know it" (corrected for truth, as nothing was done about welfare lavished on corporations and such), and Telecommunications Act of 1996 which allowed megacorporations to accumulate as many radio and TV stations as they wanted with only scant limitations, really did turn me off to Clinton. I came close to voting for Robert Dole in 1996.

There is no way in hell that today's Republican Party will persuade me to vote for them unless, possibly, I have somebody putting a loaded gun to my head.

And I am plenty pissed off with Obama right now - though I'll quickly admit he has been very supportive of gay rights (though having started very tepidly with it) compared to some Republicans who would fire up the gas chambers as quickly as they could if they had their way; and would I rather have Kagan and Sotomayor on the Supreme Court than McCain's possible nominations of people like Phyllis Schafly or Rick Santorum?

As Sarah Palin says, and I'll gladly quote her, "You bet'cha!"

I mention possible McCain nominations, not possible Romney nominations, because (1) no vacancies have occurred during what would have been Romney's term, and (2) if McCain had won, he would have been the incumbent and, presumably, no Romney emerging as the nominee from the Republican Convention in 2012.

Okay, I know it's evil of me to make an "ugly" comment and I would honestly almost never do it...but JESUS FRED ASTAIRE TAP-DANCING CHRIST!!!!!:eek::eek:

I think we might be being too hardon the woman. First of all, she needs to do another hair rinse to cover the grey. Secondly, if her hair were longer, she might be able to de-emphasize her round chubby face. I think an extra-body shampoo would work wonders for her thin scraggly hair. Conditioner is a must. She should use some pancake makeup to cover those unslghtly circles. The dangling earrings are okay, but a button-type might suit her better. Finally, the crocheted blouse doesn't go well with her charcoal grey suit at all. If she would make these changes, I think she'd look divine!

She is one ugly pile of shit.

and her face isn't very pretty either.

We really shouldn't make fun of a person's outward physical appearance. They can't help what they were born like.

However, this women is much uglier inside than she is outside. That's what repels me.
