So here we are one full month into a Republican House leadership result, from a party that PROMISED they would focus on JOBS, JOBS, JOBS, and yet we don't have a single, solitary, singular, bill that would help unemployment or create jobs! Why is that? Republicans / Conservatives / Wingnuts / Etc... why is that? Where is your rage against them for not doing a single thing to help unemployment?

I thought this Republican Congress / House was going to focus like a laser beam on the economy and jobs??? What happened? What are they doing instead? Why have they put abortion, anti-gay votes, and repeal of healthcare, amongst other items AHEAD of JOBS, JOBS, JOBS!?!?

It's because of the gays.

If gays are allowed to work, we will destroy employment for straight people.

So, Republicans are concentrating their efforts on the root cause of unemployment: homosexuality.

It's the only way to restore jobs to America.

Ask whatever question you like regarding Republicans. The answer is always going to be the same: that they're going to make Obama a one-term president, even if it means destroying the country. If one were to recall the "glory days" of Viet Nam, the punchline was "the only way we could save the village was by destroying it." And there you are! Jobs? Certainly you jest. :rotflmao:

They already have.

They just slapped the title of 'Repealing the Job Killing Health Care Act' on their pet canard so that they could say they are all about jobs, jobs, jobs.

I'm sure the repeal of funding for abortions will be tied to jobs.

Anything on DOMA will be job related.

DADT repeal must surely be high on their job creation agenda.

Increase in defense spending....job related.

And every day they spend tearing their country down in order to make sure that they win the WH in 2012 will be related to keeping their own jobs.

The unemployment rate fell from 9.4% to 9.0% in January.

The Republicans are doing really well.

Obama increased unemployment from 7.6% in January 2009 to 9.4% in December 2010.

The Republicans came in and knock the unemployment numbers right down.

About time someone in government knew what they were doing.

Truth be told neither the Republican or Democrats have done anything to help unemployment.

Obama has said repeatedly that his main focus was on jobs -- yet, he has come up with nothing.

My guess -- both sides don't have a clue or don't want to pursue an option - it's better to have the lack of jobs as a political football they can pass around.

Millions of Americans are suffering. As our tax base continues to erode from people not working. Eventually, some politician will finally get the guts to tell the truth .... just hope it happens soon.

The recent numbers on unemployment are fake -- everyone knows that .... they may just not want to admit it.

The continuation of the Bush Tax Cuts will do nothing other than put us deeper in debt.

Yes, and adding 36,000 jobs reduced the rate by 0.4%! Every 0.1% equals 9,000 jobs. So that means that there are only 810,000 looking for work left, the government is cooking the books or that millions have simply given up. I'm guessing the last answer to be most correct. But both sides will crow about the reduction for political gain.

You really don't have a clue do you?

What do you expect from so-called conservatives that live on mommy and daddy's dime? Of course they want lower taxes so their inheritance monies aren't taxed, so these pricks don't actually have to work or do anything, other than wait for dear ole dad, and dear ole mums, to croak.

Look no further than G. W. Bush.

Yes -- really well at making Americans so discouraged that they just give up, really well at crushing people's hopes so thoroughly that the incidence of impairing depression is rising radically, doing really well at shuffling numbers after the fashion of Enron.

China has done more for American jobs than the Republicans have.

^ So is Pixel a trust baby?

Making his money the old fashioned way.......

....By inheriting it?

Gee. I always thought that he must be some blue collar regular dude working two jobs to make rent, not some tony blue blood toff from Chicago.

rightly or wrongly, Republicans would probably argue that getting the Bush tax cuts extended for millionaires and attempting to repeal ObamaCare were both efforts towards job creation/saving.

BINGO! That was their jobs creation bill, the extention of the tax cuts. Now we wait for the trickle down where they will rake these savings and hire another illegal to nanny the kids or plant another flower bed.

"Trickle down" my ass -- the structure is rigged so wealth trickles up. And the Republicans like it that way.

The point has to be made that there were no job bills from either the Congress or the President in the first two years of the Obama Admin.

That's a pretty petty accusation. Government cooking the books? How about people giving up looking for jobs?

What exactly would a 'jobs' bill look like? Conservatives position is that government cannot create jobs, it can only set the stage for businesses to create jobs. Thus from their logic they can argue that killing the health care bill is a jobs bill because it is removing a drain on business that discourages new job creation.

Or they could slash taxes on purely domestic businesses to zero.

A jobs bill would be one that invigorates the economy.

Do away or lesson the tax rate on business. The USA has the the second highest business tax rate in the country.

Do away with all the special IRS exemptions - put everyone on the same playing field. No more special deals for companies like GE -- they should be paying taxes just like everyone else -- their fair share.

The government has a responsibility to make sure that companies, banks, etc. abide by the law.
