The operative word is sane.

But we have one or two on these boards who don't care about civil rights. They are usually closeted, have never had nor ever intend to have an actual relationship and care only about money.

I'd feel sorry for them but they are dangerous.

Of course they included it. They do every year....and THIS is why I don't like Gay Republicans.

They sign on to this very platform every time they vote Republican....because the Republicans have made it CLEAR what they stand for.

The GOP Gods Only Party owes is loyal oath to the Religious Right since 1970's. They are ones who run the party and dictate what the party will do. They are truly anti LGTB. But two weeks ago Trump said he is our friend then meets with 400 religious leaders who agenda is anti LGTB. Don't be fooled by the GOP, vote Blue in November.
 
Targeting elderly, low information and prejudiced voters is understandable.
However a number of people in that target demographic are developing a more nuanced view of sex and morality.
Maybe time is leaving the party behind, even amongst quite elderly voters? One can hope.
 
I have no sympathy whatsoever for the LCR who are crying about this anti-gay platform. If they'd been paying attention for the past 3 or 4 decades, they'd know that the GOP has no respect for them.

For years, the Log Cabin Pocket Book White Republicans have played the bitch to the GOP. Even through all these years of GOP opposition to homo rights.

They don't get to whine when the party they support just reaffirms its hatred for them once again.

But that's the very action everyone who says "Don't waste your vote!" advocates: voting to support a platform with things they object to.

Very few can vote honestly until we end the "two party" system.

Nationally, they have little choice but to support the GOP; it's either that or oppose many things they support.

But on the local level, they should go Libertarian.
 
Are we really surprised. I mean the Republican party is in the pocket of the Christian religious right. Of course the Regressive Left kisses Islam's ass as well. I long for the day when the death cults of Christianity and Islam no longer have both political currents in their stranglehold. In this country if you are a woman, LGBT, an Atheist or a Pagan you are pretty much on your own.
 
I wonder if Trump cut a deal with the radical fundamental Christians such as Jerry Falwell Jr to make Pence his VP for their endorsement? Pence is a dangerous extreme far right religious nut, every bit as dangerous as Cruz. In 2000, when people were still dying, Pence challenged funding for the Ryan White Care Act — arguably the nation’s most important AIDS legislation — because the bill was too pro-gay. Pence suggested that we take money away from AIDS and spend it instead on curing gays.

I don't do conspiracy theories often but I am terrified that part of a great Trump deal is to resign after election. This would put a unknown far right Christian nut job in the white house. One that didn't even have to win a election. Its a scary thought. Trump supporters are bat shit thick and clueless.

I did hear on the radio a claim that Trump admitted he might get tired of being president and would either resign or just let his veep do the job while he goes golfing or whatever. Made me think like, oh, great, we have a choice between a total control freak and someone who says he could get bored with the job -- talk about two extremes!
