^ ...... he sure is a persistent little closet case.

Well the little queen would have to go down flailing like a ballet dancer.

It is amusing to see a gay forum celebrate the prosecution of a gay man for foot tapping in a restroom. Make sure you avert your eyes and make no moves that can be construed as compelling the next time your in the privy.

The foot tapping isn't the issue. The issue is his denial of who he is, especially in the light of his rabid bigotry. Many of us don't find that particularly amusing.

Interesting you'd prefer to have us silently watch our rights be stripped away by those who would choose to engage themselves in the activities they try to deny us, rather than for us to be visibly outraged.

I am not defending him. There was a time when gay rights groups would defend a gay man who was entrapped in a toilet.

Not so much anymore judging by these folks reactions.

I personally like the way George Michael explains the idea of entrapment in a toilet.

"You don't see it as a massive risk," Michael later explained, "if there's no one else around, and if there's someone ... waving their genitals around in front of you." Michael received a small fine and performed 80 hours of community service. His arrest, he said, brought him "into the political arena," forcing him out of the closet and compelling him to speak out against the kind of police entrapment that for decades has faced gay men seeking tearoom sex.

When is the last time you heard of breeders getting popped for kissing in the park?

Senator Craig, throughout his entire career, has been a active homophobe and deserves no help or sympathy from our community. IMO, his hypocrisy is the only issue that matters.

That simply allows the other side to justify their predjudice actions against the rest of our community.

^ It is nice that you are so moral and I commend you. It is not however an argument of morality in restrooms. It has to do with targeted persecution.

It is sickening that people will stand for something but only if it suits their needs. Not really a stance then is it?

Oh ok so you were there? The cop didnt inspire the moment? Tell us more. How wide was his stance?

Again I am not defending Craig far from it.

I can't do that until we outlaw Christianity and start the torches up like they did to the "witches" in Salem. Unfortunately the Liberals dont have the stomach for a FINAL solution to your woes. But I am sure you do.

This Just In...

As I recall, instead of resigning in disgrace, the Republicans blamed the police and encouraged Sen. Craig to stay in office...

As I recall, Barney Frank didn't resign when his boyfriend was caught running a call boy ring out of Frank's townhouse.

As I recall, Congressman Jefferson didn't resign when they found the hundred grand in cold cash in his freezer.

etc. etc. etc.

Let's be consistent in our condemnation of bad behavior while in office.

Craig was not convicted for being a contemptible hypocrite, that's not illegal. Craig was convicted for being gay, he made no solicitation and no one can say what his intentions were. It is too bad that the police did not wait for a solicitation, but they did not and Craig did nothing illegal and was intimidated into a guilty plea rather than be exposed. It is unfortunate that Craig was frightened at being exposed, but it is not the job of the police to falsely arrest someone and intimidate them into a guilty plea.

Police raided gay bars for many years with the same agenda as the police have in this case, to intimidate gay men into guilty pleas knowing that they don't want to risk exposure. No doubt some of the gay men rousted in the Stonewall were not any more admirable than Craig, but that is beside the point, people should only be arrested when they actually commit a crime not because they can be embarrassed or intimidated.
