Dont forget Bill Clinton and his intern.

(yes, I know she was legal)

I knew there was a reason i didn't like barney frank ........... beyond his cartoon character voice ;)

Neither party has an exclusive right on perversion.
Republicans just have an exclusive right on hypocrisy about it.

The reason I'm bringing all this up is because these Republicans condemn people for immorality, but look at them. It's the hypocrisy I'm talking about. Go ahead and screw whoever you want, but don't point your finger at others and say "naughty"!![/B]

Cowboy Bob

So democrats are cool with immorality and that somehow makes them better. How about this which party continues to elect people that are known to be breaking the law over and over. I wonder what the people in Mass are smoking they seem to send more crooks and perverts back to office than even the corrupt political machine in Chicago. Gerry Studs and Ted the Swimmer and Barney Frank come to mind. On the other side was Mark Foley reelected? NO he wasn't and his crime was less than Gerry Studs. Was Duke Cunningham reelected? No he wasn't. What William Jefferson did was just as crooked and the dems kept right on sending him back though hopefully he is about to start bunking in prison real soon. Robert Byrd was a grand wizard in the klan and he has every building in the state of West Virginia named after him. Bill Clinton an attorney well versed in the law lied under oath and was impeached and disbarred. If he could have run again the dems would have kept right on voting for him. You get the idea. Once republicans find out someone is dirty they usually don't send them back. Dems only care about the D.

Look up Tn Waltz and see what all the wonderful Dems in Tn were up to. Out of the huge scandal only one was a Republican and he pleaded guilty. The dems tried to get away with it and now most of them have free room and board that we pay for. In Memphis we had a city councilman convicted for taking bribes and he had to serve time. As soon as he got out he was reelected and did the same thing again and was sent to jail again. In DC Marion Barry could be video taped raping Mickey Mouse and they would send him right back. Both parties have way to many crooks and pervs. Anybody that says otherwise is living in a fantasy world.

Republican aide Alan David Berlin was arrested on charges that he wanted to engage in sex acts with a 15-year-old boy while dressed in a panda costume.

Republican businessman Jon Grunseth withdrew his candidacy for Minnesota governor after allegations surfaced that he went swimming in the nude with four underage girls, including his daughter.

1) Was the boy in the panda costume or Berlin?
2) Swimming nude is not a bad thing and shows how biased the list is.
3) I don't see most of what they did as bad beside being hypocrites. The history of sexuality changes a lot of things.
4) I love the quote below from where most of the OP came from.

HATE MAIL:"Maybe you have no control over where they post your political bullshit but I wish they wouldn't post it on google when my 11 year old daughter is just trying to find ideas for her 12th birthday party. I am sure there are plenty of liberal fucks out there molesting children also!!!!!!! Post it where it matters in the trash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you, a concerned mother"

Yes. Immorality was one of the campaign promises that made me vote Democratic.

I guess I didn't make myself clear

Gerry Studs had sex with an under age page boy and was repeatedly reelected

Barney Frank had a prostitution ring running out of his house and has been repeatedly reelected

Mel Reynolds convicted of having sex with a 16 year old then famously pardoned by Bill Clinton

The list for both parties is long and if you recall the democrat tagline for 06 was that republicans were the party of corruption. The truth is that both parties are full of scandalously perverted sleezeballs and all of the criminals and pervs need to be prosecuted, convicted and face long prison sentences. If no one pays a price why will they stop.

Running a prostitution ring affects effective governance...how? If it was so bad he would have been locked up years ago and never voted back into office. Or maybe Northern voters just recognize what a red herring it is.

1. Illegal
2. Immoral

Were he not a powerful us congressman Barney would have been arrested.
Were Ted Kennedy not the son of Joseph Kennedy he would have been convicted
Were Mel Reynolds not a powerful democrat he would not have been pardoned.
Were William Kennedy Smith not a Kennedy he would have been convicted of rape

I've spent some time reading about the scandals on both sides all the way back to LBJ. Both parties are at fault and nothing is likely to change until we get a 3rd party that is not corrupt for a little while. Many people go into politics start out honest not many come out clean.

Where's Alfie and the Crimea River Quartet when you need him?

You vote for an over-the-top "moral" self-righteous party, that's what you get. But when they fall they fall harder than anyone else because they elevate themselves.

No I vote for individual people whose policies are the closest to what I believe in. Right now that is primarily republicans. I am hopeful that very soon there will be a viable libertarian candidate that I could support without helping to elect a democrat. I am sure the ghost will be happy to attack me for using the L word but he will jus have to get over it.

There is plenty of sleaziness and corruption to go around. Anyone convicted of a crime or serious misdemeanor should be barred from running or holding office (tickets for jaywalking or civil disobedience or the like should be treated differently). Democrats or Republicans who engage in political corruption should be prosecuted mercilessly because it is such a grotesque breach of the public trust.

If memory serves me right, the page Studds had sex with was not legally an adult, but was 17 and so could legally consent to sex. Bad judgment, but not illegal. Franks showed bad judgment in hiring a prostitute, but if I remember correctly he was not aware that the guy was running the ring out of his house. Of course, if Franks lived in public housing, he would have been evicted, whether or not he knew what was going on. For better or worse, Kennedy was not prosecuted for a serious enough crime. What he did was reprehensible, but with the benefit of hindsight we know that he distinguished himself in his career and was one of the best senators the country has ever had.

What I do find particularly hypocritical about many conservatives and Republicans is how they are so quick to overlook the crimes of the Bush administration and to be opposed to investigating their wrongdoing. Conservatives are all law and order except when the crimes are "high crimes and misdemeanors" committed by Republican office holders. We have had an administration that lied to Congress, approved of torture, subverted the Justice Department, the list goes on. Yet conservatives here can't even bring themselves to admit that the Bush administration did anything wrong, much less agree that there should at least be investigations.
