I have seen he first 2 movies i think he movies were good. I even have both of the movies on dvds. i am glad it is not 100 percent same of the game. so i agreed with u Effortless_Pro in all aspects.

I can't wait for it either. I really enjoyed the first 2 movies, because they didn't try to be something they weren't. All in all they were great video game based movies (unlike almost every other video game movie). I'm also psyched to see Ali Larter in this, since she's doing such a good job on Heroes.

saw the trailer as well, yeah it makes me excited about Resident Evil. I never found the previous movies to be bad. Actually enjoyed them especially the first so. I'm looking forward to RE: Extinction.

I saw the trailer when my friends dragged me to go see Ghost Rider. It looks better than the last one which was entertaining but overall a let down after the good start they had with the first movie. Even people that hated the last one admitted that the ending had them interested in where the story was going to go with Alice.lol I am wondering how they are going to handle this one since they look to have veered even further from the game. Though I do think its funny the film takes place in the desert and so does the next game.

In my opinion..

First movie; Actually scary ( zOmg )
Second movie; Not scare, more of an Action film
Third movie; Seems like action

You know the writer for Resident Evil actually worked closely on both films, as did the action director for the games.

Romero was never up on the slate to make the movie.

Romero was in talks with the creative team behind the games before the first film was shot. However they clashed and didn't like the ideas Romero had. Paul Anderson who did the first film jumped in after him and they loved him and were happy with how well he knew the games and liked his ideas. They also liked the last game movie he did "Mortal Kombat".

I'll see it because apparently Wesker is supposed to be a character in this one.

However, if they fuck him up...That's the last movie I'll see from this series.

Considering they butchered the Nicholai character in the last one, although I did enjoy looking at Zach Ward through out it...

Nicholai just isn't Nicholai without his sociopathic, treacherous nature...

So hopefully, Wesker gets to keep his.

I never really played RE, but I enjoyed the movies because they were a bit campy and not so serious. So I can't wait for #3, especially with Alice's powers. I wonder if the RE 2 cast will be in it, still.

I loved the first one because for one they had the balls to make it a totally different story from the game, yet at the same time add elements and plot points so that it was a plausable 'B side' story to the one you see in the first game. Also, I liked how the first film explored Umbrella a bit more and showed just how much of their experimentation was going on in that mansion before the STARS members came across it, and the fact that Alice was quite a cool new character to add to the universe of RE.
APOCALYPSE was a love/hate thing with me, mainly for what they did to Alice by juicing her up and making her all superhero like and virtually unstoppable besides the nemesis. The appeal of Alice was to me that she was a normal person trapped in dire circimstances and had to rely on her training and witt to get out of it, so by giving her these upgrades she was not as 'relatable' to me and you never really felt scared for her safety as in the first one given her new narly powers. But the second film was a good action flick, and again built on the premise of the RE world. And I will give them props for having the balls to add zombie children, which in most films of this genre I've come across seems to be a big no no.
EXSTINCTION looks rather good, and perhaps more on par with the first film. I'm just hoping they don' use Alice's powers as a easy exit point when the action hits the fan and actually make her powers stall or slowly disappear, thus making her more reliant on her own quick thinking and gun skills. The only disappointment to me is that the chick who played Jill Valentine in the second one is not in this one, so her character was written out and replaced by the black woman.

If they fuck up Wesker then the movie has gone down the shit hole. He's my favorite character out of the entire game. Also I'm totally pissed off that Capcom is closing down it's servers for Resident Evil Outbreak 1 and 2.

Yeah I found this picture of what Wesker looks like in the movie. I hope they don't fuck up.

I had a dream last night, and Matt Addison, Alice, and Wesker were in it.
And Wesker was being a sexy bitch, and I was trying to get it on with him.

It was a fun dream.

Are you serious though the servers are shutting down for Outbreak? That blows, maybe it's a sign they're getting ready for ther RE5 online functionality? If it was done in the style of 4, with the mercenaries mode, and a mesh of Outbreak that be totally cool (especially if you could use a head-set)

They are saying it all over the Capcom forums, even the administrator there said that it's likely to happen. It sucks because if they close it, the game is useless. Nobody will want to buy it anymore.

You know, I didn't really like either of the Outbreaks, mostly due to the fact you can barely communicate with people online. I thought that was a piss poor idea.

You know, I didn't really like either of the Outbreaks, mostly due to the fact you can barely communicate with people online. I thought that was a piss poor idea.

Well the only way to communicate was to talk through the chat room. It was good because you could actually play online with other people, unlike the rest of the Resident Evil games where you were on your own no human contact. With Outbreak you were glad to just find someone still living on the level and running around trying to complete the level.

Also if you thought you could barely communicate, you should of tried to build a game plan, meaning you tell the people what you plan to do in the level so you're not going around and shit, yeah of course there were asshole players on there that thought they were the best people in the game. But I've played it since Outbreak File 1 came out and I loved playing it.

The only RE game I played was dead aim. Good or bad idea to get me into the games??

Well Dead Aim was just another side game which really didn't have anything to do with the actual story of the series, if you plan to play Resident Evil 4 you'd have no clue who the hell Leon is, or who Albert Wesker or even Ada Wong is for that matter. You'd have to play the first game to know who Albert Wesker was and how he was involved in the storyline, then you'd need to play Resident Evil 2 to learn the relationship between Leon and Ada.

But this is just optional for you. If you didn't play the games then the movies would become 100% interesting to you. If you played the games from the very first game like me, then you'd either be picking the movie to death hoping Director's and Screenwriters didn't fuck up the characters and the entire purpose of the game. Maybe you'd just be happy to see the video game characters come to life, like Jill Valentine, Carlos, Nemesis, Claire, and Albert Wesker.

Does anyone know if they're going to do the poster contest for this one?

I sure hope so.

Did the second movie even have this? I can't even remember, I know the first movie had the poster contest because the first movie had so much hype behind it. People were having hard ons wondering how this movie would live up to the video game.

The movies are entertaining, not in a full Resident Evil sort of way. I've gotten pass the movies actually completely following any story, the movies are basically fun entertainment, I have no problem with that because they have entertained me.

I love the RE games and always will. When I first touched Resident Evil for ps1 over a friends, I was in awe, scared and just thrilled that such a game existed. The game was/is incredible. Ever since then I just basically followed the series.

One friend I have would nab the games as they come out, and we'd sit there between each other and play the games through until we beat them. We never touched the First person ones, or Outbreak. Funny thing is, the guy that I used to sit and play the games with all the time hasn't played 4. I told him he is nuts and needs to get his hands on it asap. I told him not to expect the normal RE feel to it, but still expect an awesome game.

Resident Evil 0 was pretty good for what it was, I remember once we went through the game, I went through the game a lot easier myself then any other RE games, though.

I am extremely excited for 5. Just to see what they are going to do with it, are they going to go back to the 'classic' RE controls or mix it up and do something with the newer controls they used in 4. RE has always been up there in a series that I will always follow.

Wesker looks a little different in the movie picture, but I hope they make him as bad ass and evil as he was in the game. It's a shame they never used Barry in there. He was just a broken man mixed up in all this Zombie drama! ;)

Yeah, Resident Evil 4 was fun, plus totally new game play and storyline.

Resident Evil Zero was kind of a disappointment, I beat the game the first day I bought it, it was that easy. But the best part of the game was not the game play but the fact that they told you what happened with the Bravo Team and how they landed in the mansion which started it all. Wesker and Birkin walking down that hallway to the elevator was pure amazement for me, as I knew that it was the first time seeing the two together. Plus to make it even better they used the same voice actor who did Wesker in CODE: Veronica and Wesker's Report DVD.

They are still being selfish with information about Resident Evil 5, the only bit of video is that trailer with the zombies running. I think with running zombies it will make the game a whole lot difficult to play. It would be like playing Resident Evil Remake but with better graphics and on PS3 and XBOX 360.

Saw the trailer from a blog link to yahoo movies... I'm very excited. Loved 1 and 2, have 1 on dvd waiting to catch 2 on sale for like $7 before I buy it. For me the story line is great even if it is a bit inconstant but I love what it's all about. Even if Jill doesn't come back they can give some back story of what happened just like they did with Eric Mabius who they turned into Nemesis but we only see him in flashbacks. As far as the trailer I just love when they pan back and the entire world is a desert! so cool... Like the Day After Tomorrow but with zombies and not Jake Gyllenhaal.

I have RE 2 for Dreamcast but I just can not, can not get past the awful controlls ...
