Resident Evil

I'll get RE4 on Wii cuz I never bought it on GC. I did rent it before and liked it but never finished it.

REUC... Im not sure. I'll have to wait and see if the on rails shooter thing works well enough.

I normally dont like gory zombie movies, but I liked RE, cant wait for the next movie.

I havent played the games... not enough time to play that AND get my civilization fix.

Wesker is always going to be my favorite character. I remember that in RE Zero he bailed out of Umbrella even told Birkin he would, then in RE CODE Veronica he told Chris he belonged to a new organization. Then in Resident Evil 4 they show him working with Ada. So my question is will they even reveal the Corporation Wesker is in or did they already reveal this? I heard rumors back in the days that he was in a organization called Bio-Tech.

Check Code:Veronica. He has a patch on his arm that says HFC. So do the armbands of his soldiers. I'm guessing that's the new company he's working for. Incidentally, if it's only one letter different from KFC. Coincidence? I think not. Three-legged chickens live!

Monkey: For serious. They butchered Nemesis, man. NEMESIS! I know he wasn't the best thing to happen to RE but come on!!!! That thing gave me the hardest fucking time in RE3 and they turn him into a pussy in the bloody movie!!! "Me monster still loouuurvvve you!!!!" Fuck that. I'm still watching the next RE movie though. That's because I'm secretly into necrophilia.

I never noticed it because I had the one on Dreamcast and I'm not sure they had that patch on his arm.

Funny you mention necrophilla, Marvels, when I just saw a South Park episode about that like two hours ago, lol.

I just love Ali Larter. She's my main reason for having an ounce of excitement for the movie

Marvels have you played 4?
IT woudl seem Wesker is trying to re-establish Umbrella. While Ada is working for a different Corporationa dn she's undermining them for another. Ada and Wesker both work for HFC, they're undermining that company.

RE5, there' been little to NO details about it, it was also confirmed to be a sequel.
Umbrella Chronicles was confirmed to lead up to the events of Umbrella's downfall.
You don't just play as Chris, Jill, Rebecca and Billy, you play as Wesker as well.

So to summerize. Wesker wants to rebuild Umbrella. Ada works for a larger company. Umbrella Chronicles is about Umbrella's downfall.
RE5, nothing has been confirmed about who the man in the trailer is (it might not be Chris, especially since the man is outfitted with the same gear as Leon was.)
and there's little to no information about it.

Oh and I played the games, and I'm a giggly fan of the movies.

RE5 is such a tease, they have been such assholes for not releasing more information about the game instead of just leaving us with a damn trailer.

RE: UC would be a good reason for me to buy the Wii.

I hope it's Chris, Effortless although whoever the guy is he's pure sexiness in all his HD glory.

Whatever. It's still leaps and bounds above "Master of Unlocking" and "Jill sandwich".

Yep, I played four, and all I noticed was that Wesker wanted the plagas thingie for himself, blah, blah, blah, and Ada seems to be magically immune to being chopped into bits and pieces when jumping on top of a motherfucking rotor.

Leon should be played by Jensen Ackles. ALi Larter makes a good (albeit older) Claire. I want Charlize Theron to be Alexia Ashford.

Omigod I know.

I'm saddened by the terrible voice acting.

Where are the peopel who normally do it? I hope Wesker isn't as corny.

If Richard Waugh doesn't voice Wesker the game is pointless and terrible, he would never be as terrible as the voice actors in the video.

what's wrong with the movies? i've not played the games either, but i liked the movies. i don't need a movie to match exactly with a book or game for it to be enjoyable. is that what you folks mean though, it's not the same story line as the games?

Liberties are meant to be taken with game to film adaptations, yes. But Resident Evil has always been about survival horror. What makes it survival, is that you, epic sense of drama aside, are normal. You do not bounce of walls and kick fucking zombie-dogs in the head. Neither do you run down buildings like you're from DC.

Carlos isn't from the Middle-East, Nemesis isn't a pussy, and the Ashfords are fucking vile. Sorry mate, but for Resident purists like me, the movies are piss-poor.

As action movies, they do their job. But as game adaptations, then the only thing they got right was Jill's outfit and the logo of Umbrella.

The only thing they did right with Resident Evil movies is that they knew that Umbrella was going to be the cause of Raccoon City turning into a City of the Dead.

True Resident Evil fans that have been playing since the beginning will rip the movies apart. Thankfully they did Tomb Raider right when they transfered the game to movie.

^Again have you played 4? Leon did all that and more. Quite flawlessly I might add.

Yes. But 4 wasn't about Umbrella. Neither was it about zombies. If the enemies in the movies ran at you with pitchforks, then obviously, you will get to see some Michael bay moments liberlly sprinkled throughout. That doesn't mean however, that any director with a half a brain could whip up a scary ass atmosphere to go with the action.

The movies on the other hand, have as much ambience as a Governator movie. Instead of focusing on the underlying struggle of the remaining humanity against the undead hordes, they just throw a juiced up mutant chick to give us some stunts and a couple of money shots. Lame.

You can accept them as not being of the game's storyline, (hell, it's what I did), but the moment the hollywood story runs over the original ones (RE 2 and 3), then yes, obviously, some people will get pissed. Especially when the characters that the games focused on hide in the trunk while mutant babe does all the work.

Yeah, yeah, Wesker wanted to 'restore' Umbrella to it's former glory even though he spent two games trying his best to run it to the ground. But that's beside the point. Umbrella = Zombies. Los Plagas = Backward peseta gobblers. IF they had Crimson Heads in the movie, fine, they can have all the wire-fu they want. IF they based the movie in RE4, then they can bring in Chuck Norris to roundhouse every villager into oblivion.

Mutant babes may kick ass, but as I said, telepathic superhumans shouldn't have a place in survival horror. The biggest thing Jill did was cap a Licker (or a dog, whatever), and Carlos' greatest stunt was to kick a zombie in the face. Of course, this could all change by the third movie, but at this point, I've given up on acknowledging that the kids there are the same characters. I tend to imagine that they just share the same name.

And whoopee, action director. If it isn't Mikami then I don't much care. A lot of the action in the RE games are in total context to what's freaking possible. He did the action for the movie based on what was on the crap ass script.

The first film felt like they went straight to RE1's third act (lab) without tyring to creep us out first. The original game had us guessing (for about ten minutes) what the hell went wrong, if the thing was supernatural or scientific or whatnot. The movies didn't.
