Resident Evil

okay okay.

I've been playing Resident Evil since day one, when it first came out for the playstation.

I have seen both movies.

The first movie was good....not great, not horrible...but good. The movie was set before Bravo Team or was it Alpha team of stars went inside the mansion.

It was before Resident Evil Zero

There was no Tyrannt in the movie because he was on ICE...wesker frees him in the game. Hence why there was no frog men, no bees. Just dogs, zombies and one licker.

I like it.

As for Resident Evil 2.

Garbage. I did not like it. I thought they mocked the nemesis. This guy dogs you everywhere you go in number 3. He's the best Tyrannt they have. And the movie reduced him to nothing more then a frankenstien monster.

Here's hoping Number 3 is better. Also the chick at the end of the second movie has the same glowing eyes as wesker.....Umbrella did something...maybe it the G or T virus actually working properly instead of just turning you into a mindless zombie? who knows.

New Wesker kicks ass. He's got to be my all time favourite Video Game Villain!

I'm a true Resident Evil fan, and I enjoyed the movies thoroughly.
I mean I could point out all the problems with it... but I accept them as not being about the game's storyline.

I mean you either liek them or hate them, but I don't think you can base that on being an "RE" purist or "True" fan of the games.

I like the movies but it just seemed weird to see them talk during Behind The Scenes and say "Oh it looks exactly like the game"

Pro:
Yes, Wesker does. Is Wesker in the movie? No. Was he in 4? Yes. Did Umbrellla create Los Plagas? No. Was 4 about Umbrella? No. Were the movies based on 4? No. And stop grasping at straws. Leon was introduced fighting zombies, doi, but he wasn't in the movies either. Or wait, he was, in a newspaper clipping in Jill's room that had no purpose than to make us wish he was there instead of lame-ass mutant lady. But that's beside the point. The first two movies was released even before 4 came out. So let's stop with the comparisons, shall we?

Only idiots argue that they don't want to see a live-action version of "push the statue on top of the block". Adapting a game doesn't mean you have to translate every little thing into the screen. It does, however, mean that you should at least stay true to the source material (take Silent Hill for example; not the best thing ever, but it did a nifty job). Music isn't enough. In fact, music is the easiest thing you can add. Adding in stuff like "Oh, this is the same train from RE2" or "look, crows!" just won't cut it either.

So, you regard the movies as an alternate universe? Fine. Do that. At least when marvel and DC compose Elseworlds, they still had the decency to focus on the actual characters they created. And, yes, I am whiny/nitpicky/whatever. I can live with that. What I can't live with is the fact that they had to replace them with miss one-dimensional. And zombies who stop for dramatic effect even though they already have their victim surrounded.

And being that it was Umbrella's perspective - - the writers essentially took away all the horror. There's no more mystery. (My bad about the supernatural, but my copy was a bootleg so there wasn't any manual)

The Wesker reports. Haven't read those since Code: Veronica came out for the Dreamcast. Refresh my memory, what was he secretly working with Birkin for again?

Dear God do I hope that you're right about the telepathy thing.

As for my previous generalization, I chalk it up to fanboyism. That's the closest you'll get to an apology because I'm not the type who says he's sorry.

P.S. Don't forget that Jun Takeuchi and Keiji Ifune are behind RE5. And they've worked with Mikami long enough to share the same vision. (The team behind RE1 is behind this too, am I not correct?) I cannot say the same about Paul Anderson (who also butchered Aliens versus Predator).

P.S.S. And what else has Carlos done after his short moment of glory? But then again, he was also pretty useless in RE - - oh wait, no, no he wasn't.

I can't wait for how RE:Wii will visualize the levels for Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. I don't like how most of the trailers, images, etc. focus only on the RE1 part and not the other parts that include RE2, 3, 4, AND outbreak. RE2 is one of my favorite games of all time and I'd love to see how the RPD or the sewers and laboratory underneath it look. I mean c'mon, we haven't seen Claire since Code Veronica, it'd be nice to see how she looks with a makeover. Same goes for Carlos Oliveira... I've always liked him in a certain way. :P

It annoys me how Capcom confirmed that the fall of Umbrella will be tackled in RE: Chronicles. One assumes that you chronicle something that had already been experienced beforehand.

I know, you're a fanboy Marvels and I'd even consider myself one, but is the counter-culture/devil's advocate all the time attitude always necessary? Or do you force it sometimes. I mean I get you don't like something, but come on... even when I pointed things out you debunked them with stuff, that was established and known, but not the bigger picture.

Also some of RE's horror has been few and far between. Alice is hardly "one-dimensional" and the zombies didn't stop moving.... in fact that were all about the food.

Also why should Nemesis have been mocked? However "scary" he was in the game he still was ridiculous. Sure it was the G virus that created him, but you know whatever, it's not like it had to be exact.

Even some of Marvels and DCs elseworlds stray from the general plot.
Ultimate Dr.Doom has fucking GOAT LEGS!

It really doesn't matter, you either love the movies or you hate. However no fan is greater because of either.

Doctor Doom has goat legs! WHAT? good god.....I must look into this ultimate universe of marvels!

Ultimate Doom has goat legs, yes. But he's still fucking hardcore awesome.

Pro: Honestly? No. I'm not counter-culture in anyway. Fact of the matter is, I'm pro-establishment. I wasn't playing Devil's advocate back in the comics thread because I truthfully, honestly believe that registration is the way to go. I'm glad that seditionist Captain America is dead. He was in the way of prosperity. Neither am I arguing for the sake of arguing over here. I believe the movies suck, and I am defending my opinion. It just so happens I'm not that talented in keeping my words flowery.

Now, with that out of the way - - Nemesis in the games may not have been the best thing ever, but the guy kept you on the edge of your seat. The movies, on the other hand, turned him into a lovesick puppy. Alice doesn't do anything outside of "kill this, kill that, look pouty, kill this, kill that" - - and she has as much emotional range as Wentworth Miller in the first season of Prison Break.

= I'm glad that seditionist Captain America is dead. He was in the way of prosperity.

Captain America dead! LOL yeah he stay dead long enough until Marvel starts to lose money and then BAM....He'll be back.

Nobody stays dead in the comics! :D
