Hi everyone. Was wondering if anyone can help me? I recently had to restore Windows XP on my laptop and it deleted my Itunes. After downloading it again it synced with my Ipod and wiped everything off my Ipod. Does anyone know how to restore the music I lost on it? I've tried downloading different programs but everytime they do a search they ask me to pay to restore it. Is there any other way and if not would paying the fee actually restore the music I lost? Many thanks.

if, as you said, the computer completed the sync with the ipod, and wiped it out, then there isn't going to be a way to restore everything

once you restored the OS, you wiped out any backups that itunes might have created, and then the OS wiped out anything that was on the ipod

and this is why i love my mac, and hate windows

I hate the way Apple conducts business, and the mafia-like relationship one is forced to maintain with iTunes. In my estimation, when you purchase a piece of technology, it is yours - with Apple, the technological umblical cord, so to speak, is never severed...

i agree. however, i've never had a problem with my mac bigger than something randomly freezing, in the (about) 3 years since i bought my first one from my boyfriend

this is compared to almost constant problems with my former dell, and windows xp. i'm perfectly willing to put up with 'you can only use OUR programs with our products', since there is that much LESS stress involved in the long run:D

Was this music purchased from itunes ? If so log onto the store with your account details.

You don't need your collection of music, just download dido, plug in ipod into some speakers, crack open a bottle of wine and start sobbing because unless all you your music was purchase from itunes you aint getting it back.

That's the ONE BIG REASON why i use THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE like xilisoft instead of sucky apple software itune. What good of a software when it doesn't let you backup your own music!
