I'd heard that The Cat in the Hat was a bad movie, but I had no idea how absolutely deplorable it is.

I just watched the first half hour (out of curiosity) until The Cat (Mike Myers) showed up on the scene and I'm totally stunned.

Which part of that movie was supposed to be for children?

Oh, and which part was supposed to be funny?

No wonder Mike's career is nonexistent these days!!

Prior to the The Grinch movie I had never heard of dr.Seuss.

The scenes from the movie The Cat in the Hat don't look very promising.

But I like the Kids In The Hall sketch Dr. Seuss Bible.

Well, it starred Mike Myers, who hasn't been funny for many years. So, yeah, terrible movie.

I know that. The parents could enjoy the stories as much as the children. But the movie is basically a movie for children. Why, then, the need for the Cat in the Hat to pick up a framed photo of Mommy, pull it open like a playboy centrefold, drool over it, then tuck it somewhere under his fur for later. . . 'enjoyment'?

Except, perhaps, for the original Chuck Jones animations of How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Horton Hears a Who and Hawley Pratt's The Cat in the Hat and The Lorax.
