Rick Perry Wants to Get Ugly With Ben Bernanke

No, printing money causes inflation. Basic economics. It's a cruelly unfair tax on those who can least afford it.

The Fed is evil.

Jim Hightower was just on hardball and he says Perry knows how to put a goober in gubernatorial.

I agree that inflation taxes those with low income the most but on the other hand it erodes the worth of debts. That punished those who saved and didn't went on a spending binge, but in the current situation reduced debts are perhaps not a bad thing, both for the federal government and for many over-indebted households.

Additionally it helps your exports because it basically devalues your currency.

He's stepping on the toes of the Bilderberg Group, the Rothschilds, etc. when he attacks the Fed. Stepping on those toes doesn't help to guarantee one's longevity...this may be more of a "third rail" than the "traditional" ones of Social Security, etc. I hope that the Republicans which actually are likely to gain the Oval Office will all shoot themselves in the foot, repeatedly.

Please let Sarah Palin, in the end, be the only one unscathed in the preliminary stuff, so that many of us can delightfully watch her implode on the petard of her own stupidity.

I fear Perry, because I think he is almost a shoo-in for the November 2012 elections if he becomes the nominee.

It erodes the worth of the debt. That's what's important. It's a huge problem for us now. We are actually paying the cost of the Chinese military in interest every year.$72,000,000,000 worth.

We learned nothing from other nations who have sought to inflate their way to prosperity. You don't need to look any further than the history of your own country after WWI to see where that leads.

Touché ;)

It is just the question how much inflation is too much. Rising oil prices don't help of course. But with a possible second recession, deflation is not much better.

And why are oil prices rising? Because oil is priced in dollars that are becoming worth less every day. All OPEC needs to do is price it in Swiss Francs and the game will be over in short order.

Well I know the crowd here is going to love agreeing with Karl Rove, "Not a Presidential Statement"

I did see Rove talking about Perry today. I sensed a dislike between Rove and Perry and by extension, Bush. Interesting.

The population of the United States grows every day.

In other words, the amount of people being born outweighs the number of people dying each and every 24 hour cycle.

To break it down to the oversimplified Monopoly metaphor again: If last week's game consisted of 4 people, and this week's game consists of eight, more money has to be passed out to keep the game in play.

If, in the weekend after that, a dozen people are sitting down to play, there may well not be enough money in "the bank" to accommodate all the players. This would necessitate the "printing" of more money, (or going to the toy store to buy another pack of bills...)

This is not "treasonous", this does not rate some veiled reference of violence in the form of, "We know what we'd do to them in Texas", all this does is incite the tea party's rapturous approval and get them to set their Keystone Lights down long enough to slap their deep-fried buttered hands together like so many flag waving seals.

A gradute of the Tea Party School of low intelligence.
