Global climate change is not a social issue in itself, it is a scientific issue; however, it has unfortunately been made into a political issue because of those who deny the fact of it, for political/economic reasons.

Someone needs to get a CO2 tank and hook Santorum up to it and let him breathe CO2 for a while, since he's obviously a vegetable.

I loved it one day when, at my safety and conservation project, I pointed out that six feet had eroded off the bottom of the bluff in the twelve years of work, due to rising sea levels. This guy asked why the sea level should be rising, and I explained. He not only refused to believe the planet is getting warmer, he refused to believe the sea level is rising. I was tempted to tell him I'd let him in on the real secret, that the sand shrimp were developing intelligence and they came out during storms to dig away and undermine the bluff.....

Nah -- I'd say something like 20 million people support him, and they're smart enough to get to rallies, so the total IQ is about enough, in dollars, to buy a stealth bomber.
