As long as U2 doesn't win their 400th fucking Grammy, then I'm ok with whatever happens on the show next year. Seriously, I hate it when U2 wins EVERY year for random songs in all the top categories and don't let anyone else share in on the wins. I remember when they won Best Song and Record of the Year for an album that had been out for 3 years already! Talk about overrated!

I agree that SOS will win for Best Dance Recording, but I don't think she will win for Unfaithful. I think Unfaithful is a great song, but there are a lot of better people. By the way, unless Beyonce and Justin release better singles than "Deja Vu" and "Sexy Back", I doubt they are going to win any awards.

As for Best New Artist, does anyone have KT Tunstall's "Eye to the Telescope"? It is currently one of my favorite albums. Every song on that album is great, especially "Another Place to Fall" and "Suddenly I See".

My luck is that someone annoying will win best new artist... like Chris Brown... ew.

I wouldn't mind Ne-Yo winning one though. He's a very good artist.

I heard that Ne-Yo and Rihanna are either on the same label or represented by the same people and when that happens they tend to lobby for and push one artist over the other. They would choose the artist that has the best chance of getting the most nominations and wins. They do the same thing in hollywood when it comes to the oscars.

If this is true i think they would push Rihanna because she has more star quality and bigger hits. Best new artist slot can only hold 5 people and i doubt Chris , Rihanna and Ne-yo will end up in there together, because there are lots of new talent that could fill those 5 slots.

Chris is working overtime though and milking his debut album for all its worth. He just released a 4th single and shot the video today, so you can bet that he wants a best new artist nomination too.

Its going to be tough to get in but since Jay Z is big in the industry he can pull some strings and make sure Rihanna is one of the 5. Missy Elliot used her influence to get Ciara nominated in the best new artist category last year remember and that was a joke because she cant sing at least not like Rihanna or the other new girls on the block.

But im glad Rihanna wasnt nominated as best new artist last year because nobody would have beaten John Legend he won that award the day the nominations were announced. She has a better chance of winning in 2007.

So all i can tell Rihanna is to get ready to be a grammy nominee and winner. Win or not she has to get nominated in at least 5 categories, as there is no way she can be over looked especially for S.O.S.

Technically "unfaithful" is a good song but as someone said earlier there are alot of other contenders and only 5 slots so its a long shot but if they really like her you never know what can happen

lol this post is kinda long and i guess you can tell i luv me some Rihanna, but i am really not being biased just because i like her. She really does have a genuine shot next year.

Riahnna is ok at best. shes trying too hard to be Beyonce which isnt a good t hing at that. she WONT clean up at the Grammys, hell i dont even think she will be nominated but once or twice at the most.

How cool and sweet is this girl?

I just saw her interview on access hollywood and the host said that alot of people in the industry are projecting that you could be a multiple grammy nominee.

Rihanna is so excited about the grammys. She said that it would be the ultimate dream if she could win a grammy. Im so excitied for her. 3 years ago she was just a normal girl in highschool now she is taking the music world by storm.

Her concerts are sold out all over the world. Rihanna you are the best and keeping pop alive while britney is on maternity leave.

Rihanna i am so excited for for. You guys should have seen her beeming when the host told her that she is an early grammy favorite.

"Unfaithful and S.O.S" are such huge hits there is no way she wont get ay least 7 nominations.

You go Rihanna swing that caribbean flag high.

I think Christina Aguilera has a good chance at the Grammys. I just listened to the 30 second clips of all the tracks on her album, "Back to Basics", that RCA released and it's amazing. Artistically, Christina's pushed herself even further. The sounds are so unique. I predict that her new album will be one of her most critically acclaimed albums. My vote is for her. Rihanna is good, but this is the Grammy's where its not about the sales/popularity, but rather the talent and music writing that matter.

If its not about popularity why does ashanti have a grammy? Why did Beyonce win 5 grammys in one night? Why didnt Inida Arie win at least one grammy, even though she was nominated in 7 categories?

In any event Rihanna has broken ground in R&B pop with "Unfaithful" because you never hear a female singing about being unfaithful, it usually always the man being unfaithful and a woman singing about the heartbreak. The lyrics to that song are powerful.

Speaking of music have your heard the "Unfaithful" instrumentals with the piano and violin backing. Its absolutely beautiful. The production on that song is quaility.

Grammy better recognise.

Anyways guys, when the nominations are announced we will see who predicted correctly

You make a good point. Sales generally do represent how good a song is - if its a good song, people will buy it. Beyonce won not only because of popularity...it simply was a great song. But what about Norah Jones?? "Don't know why" was only at number 30 on the Billboard Hot 100...yet she managed to get 8 Grammy's. All I know is that the Grammy's aren't based on sales like the American Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards. Grammy winners are picked from an academy of music professionals. But I guess that the sales/popularity has some role.

...No offence, but first of all she didn't even write the song. And second, your saying she deserves a grammy because she was the first to sing about being a whore? I believe Britney Spears did the same with "Everytime" and yet... I don't see any grammys. Lol

I think your assesment that she's the first person to sing R&B pop songs about cheating on their spouses isn't correct, but even if it was, it isn't enough of a ground breaking subject to deserve a grammy.

Listen to the instrumentals of "unfaithful", without the words and tell me that it isnt a beautifully produced track. The piano and the violin backing would be a hit even without the words.

Countdown to the grammys, its so exciting. Rihanna is currently in Australia with Jay Z doing promotions and concerts.

She was intereviewd recently and to win a grammy would make her the happiest 18 year old in the world.

lol Rihanna isnt going to win anything...dont get your hopes up. Both of her cds was bland, and the only reason A Girl Like Me was released so fast was to cover up her debut, because it was beginning to bomb. We Ride Flopped and now they are rushing out with Break It Off

FYI "Music Of The Sun" sold over 1 million copies worldwide.

I want to see Rihanna kick Beyonce's ass live on tv. Now that I will Tivo and possibly even record.

That would make a great celebrity deathmatch. Im sure its in the works with Jay Z as referee LOL.

I dunno, I think Amerie is the prettiest of all the up-and-coming r&b singers.

I agree I like Amerie too. She is beautiful. I havent heard too much from her though. Drew Shidora (sp?) from Step up is cute too.

Oh my gosh me and my friends were jumping up and down like mad people when Rihanna's name was called.

Rihanna won "Hot 100 female artist of the year" beating Mary J. Blige and Beyonce who she grew up listenning to.



I just love this girl.

To think 3 years ago she was just a little 15 year old girl in highschool in Barbadoes with a BIG DREAM and now 3 years later she is this huge international superstar winning major awards and beating established artists like Mary J Blige.

Her speech was cute, refined, graceful, just wonderful with her little accent.

The only problem i had was her dress or lack there of. My gosh the girl is only 18 years old and her breasts were falling out the side of that dress strap whatever. They need to dress her age appropriate. I thought they were going to fall out. It was not a good look.


But i am sooooooooooooo happy for her. And the grammy nominations are coming out this week. This has been an incredible year for my girl, and i could not be happier for her.

Grammy here we come . Grammy nominations come out this week.

Rihanna all the way. I am so excited for her.
