I think it's a requirement in hollywood for woman to act like a HO to get attention.
Look at the talentless Paris Hilton. Whithout being a whore , she's pretty much getting no media exposure at all. At least Rihanna has talent. She can actually earn a living base on her talent.

OH MY GOSH i am so excited, how the heck am i gonna sleep tonight, this is so freeeking exciting, Rihanna's first Grammy nominations ever


She is finally going to get industry respect and be a legitimate artist after she gets her nominations tomorrow.


Me and my friends are camping out tonight so we can be up and watch the nominations on TV live.


Oh my gosh a Grammy is all Rihanna ever wanted she must be so excited, i am so happy for her.



I am thrilled as hell that Rihanna will finally get the respect she deserves but at the same time i am pissed off because some hater in the academy or at Defjam submitted Rihanna into the pop category.

How the hell can Rihanna get a fair shot at winning against Grammy favorites like Norah Jones, Amy Winehouse, Paul Mc Cartney etc.

Its not fair, Norah Jones can sing the alphabet and get nominated.


They should have submitted Rihanna in the R&B field where it would be a hell of alot easier to win and she would definitely win Best Contemporary R&B album.

Ashanti won it so Rihanna sure as hell could have won it.


But whatever she still has a good chance is dance recording and rap/sung collabo.

On a side note all you Britney fans unfortunately Jive for whatever reason never submitted Gimme More for consideration so Britney wont be nominated tomorrow . Gimme More should have been competing with Rihanna's "Don't Stop The Music" for best Dance recording.

Winning a grammy is no longer a sign of respect, more of a popularity contest.

No matter how many categories she’s nominated in and wins she will never be a “legitimate artist”. She is nothing more than a writer and producer’s mouthpiece. Any other female that could barely carry a tune could be used. Janet Jackson has made a career out of it.


The Grammy awards have always been so out of touch with true artistry, vision and excellence. This is apparent now more than ever. Mediocrity rules in many categories such as Pop and specially Dance. Unfortunately once respected nominations in the R&B field have also been tainted.


With Grammy continuing it’s path to irrelevancy and nominating mediocrity I’m sure you and your girlfriends will be squealing with delight as rihanna is nominated in multiple categories.

Rihanna barely can sing live, I wouldn't give her a grammy; and Umbrella is a good single but anyone could pull it off; it was offered to Britney (another low-key singer meaning can't sing but production helps) and she denied it before Rihanna got it.

I'm not surprised if Rihanna (aka ForeheadFreak) wins...after all, the Grammys are a bunch of nonsensical crap! Rihanna cant sing properly and her musical material are as mediocre as it gets. It's music to sell to teens...it's not music as in the ART of music, it's a product! She got her nominations because her single was extremely successful commercially speaking and popular so...that alone says alot about the Grammys criteria wich apparently isnt based on quality...

Rihanna will finally win a Grammy. (S.O.S was robbed)

I believe she has Rap/sung callabo in the bag and Best Dance Recording (Don't Stop The Music); but I want her to win the big one - Record of the year because lets get real UMBRELLA really is the record of the year, it might not win SONG; but in all fairness UMBRELLA should win RECORD OF THE YEAR.


I am so happy for her, she has come so far and still only 19. She wants a Grammy so bad.


I have taken the liberty of writing Rihannas acceptance speech,

Oh my gosh, i can retire/die now, a Grammy is all i ever wanted, you have no idea.

Thank you academy so much for this huge honor. I don't care if the music stars playing to signal me to wrap up because i wanna soak this moment up.

Def Jam, Jay Z, Carl Sturken, Evan Rogers thank you all for giving me the opportunity to live and realize my dream.

You know 4 years ago i was just a regular 15 year old girl back home in Barbados with a big dream that i really never thought could come true but i believed in myself and never gave up, so all you little girls in Barbados watching the Grammys now if music is your passion, you just believe in yourself and never give up ok because look at me (lifting her Grammy in the air).

Last but not least thanks to my family for all their support i love you, Barbados i love you, i love everyone, thank you all so much.

I just checked billboard and DONT STOP THE MUSIC is the #3 song in the entire US of A.


I think its gonna get the Grammy for BEST DANCE RECORDING because clearly people are dancing its the greatest AIRPLAY gainer this weak.

This is a really great song. It's one of the few songs I've heard recently that everyone seems to like. Very catchy and probably the best mainstream dance record I've heard in years.

You're right. She can't sing live worth sh*t. and her performance tonight proved that. Mary J. Blige also denied "Umbrella" before Rihanna got it, so she's lucky. Mary would've killed that song because she can actually sing.

She's also lucky she's getting these good songs after other people are turning them down ("S.O.S." being another one). She should've thanked them when she won her Grammy, lol.

Rihanna is over rated ated... ated... eh eh eh...

Rihanna sucks. Her winning a Grammy is embarassing. Though I guess the competition wasn't much.

I'm glad Amy won everything she did, she deserves it all.

Sooooo happy for Mark Ronson--his work on Back to Black and Back to Basics is incredible.

Not really or at all. A lot of people have won grammys for songs they did not wirte. Christina Aguilera won for Beautiful which was either going to Pink or staying with Linda Perry
