Re: Rehab- RIhanna *Premiere*

I love this song, but I wish she had released it last summer along with "Umbrella" because it would have been a great lead-in to the album

Re: Rehab- RIhanna *Premiere*

Eh, its an exact duplicate of What Goes Around by Justin (probly why Justin's in the video). Nothing creative about it. The video is ok. I expected better from her. Ho well, I'll just keep on playing Disturbia over and over until she has a new single.

Re: Rehab- RIhanna *Premiere*

^ I am still, to this day, obsessed with "Disturbia." I think it's absolutely brilliant - song, video, everything.

I liked the "Rehab" video though (good song too.) I recall seeing her and Justin in People magazine during a shot of filming the video, and she had those "heelless" shoes on, like Victoria Beckham.

Hopefully, "Lemme Get That" is her next single. I freaking love it! ..|

Re: Rehab- RIhanna *Premiere*

She needs to work on a new album. I mean, its not like its selling a lot. 9 singles for an album that isn't even selling well.

Re: Rehab- RIhanna *Premiere*

^ 6 million copies worldwide isn't a success?

Re: Rehab- RIhanna *Premiere*

Not if you released all those damn singles. That's terrible. There's albums that release 4 or 5 and sell just that in the U.S. alone.

Re: Rehab- RIhanna *Premiere*

Well, if you count the re-release, yeah it was about that amount.

GGGB had three singles released - "Umbrella" "Shut Up and Drive" and ""Don't Stop the Music."

After that, you had "Take a Bow," "Disturbia," and the one with Maroon 5. ("If I Never See Your Face Again?....never got into that song...)

She's been pretty popular across the globe.

Re: Rehab- RIhanna *Premiere*

I don't care for the video or artist singing it but I love the song.

Re: Rehab- RIhanna *Premiere*

I like the simplicity of the video. It works for me! But thankfully this is the LAST single from GGGB. In a year and a half, to release 8 singles is overkill (and also be featured on other records such as "Live Your Life"). That was commonplace with successful albums in the 80s and 90s (check Michael and Janet), but not in the 2000s.

Re: Rihanna and the 2009 Grammys

Wow guys this is so exciting.

I was watching the amazing race last night and saw an ad for the first ever Grammy nominations TV special on Wednesday 10/9 c.

I really think Rihanna can do it on Wednesday.

She had an awesome year and she is currently number 1 in America.

Live Your Life is definately gonna get a rap/sung nomination.

Take A Bow has a shot at record of the year.

Disturbia best dance recording and best short form music video. Lets face it it was ne of the best vids this year.

Lets go Ri Ri (!)(!)(!)

Re: Rihanna and the 2009 Grammys

I like her songs. Particularly Disturbia being my favourite...

But man, is she untalented. My friends have seen her live. I watched her at the MTV Music Awards where she opened the show and man alive is she a TERRIBLE singer! How on earth she ever got a recording contract I'll never understand. She couldn't sing to save her life. Her voice is terrible live. Absolutely terrible.

Re: Rihanna and the 2009 Grammys

Live your Life will get a nod, 5 weeks on top of the billboard chart is great for any song.

In my opinion even if it wasnt on top of the charts its still a quality song with an empowering message and still would have gotten a nomination.

Re: Rihanna and the 2009 Grammys

Wow this is getting interesting i am reading some critics predictions now and some are saying that Disturbia could get Record of the year nod over Take A Bow.

I dont know even though both went to number 1 i think Take A Bow was the bigger record even when it fell from number 1 it was still in top 5 and top 10 for weeks and everywhere you went you heard it. The lyrics arent much but as a record its good stuff.

Disturbia was big in the clubs and will get a dance nomination but i dont think it was the record of the year.

Re: Rihanna and the 2009 Grammys

since the Grammys are all about popularity.

Well i dont know about that; but popularity aside are you saying LIVE YOUR LIFE wouldnt be deserving of the best rap/sung collabo Grammy?

Re: Rihanna and the 2009 Grammys

Doesn't matter. Rihanna's young, hot and skinny. As long as she keeps her looks up and stay surrounded with top-notch producers and songwriters, Rih-Rih's gonna be here for a long while.
.

She'd be okay to look at if her face wasn't so disgusting.

I'm going to hate myself for saying this but that Umbrella song is just genius.

Too bad she didn't have anything to do with the song besides the horrid vocals. I could understand the genius behind it if she had written it. But, Jay Z seems to be the genius here. Being able to discover a talentless hack who can actually crank out some hits without ever having to actually sound decent.

If 'Live Your Life' wasn't released as a single, it wouldn't be nominated. And I say that with 110% confidence.

And yeah, Rihanna is NOT "stickin it to the haters" in this or any of her songs, because SHE DOESN'T WRITE THEM. She's singing OTHER peoples' words. Can't exactly say she's doing ANYTHING to the haters but giving them more reason to dislike her. Its great how these days Grammy's don't seem to be about talent or creativeness, just crap.

Re: Rihanna and the 2009 Grammys

lord, the grammys again already? i can't stand another poppy, overly-commercial award show where they give meaningless awards to those whom have no talent. first, the MTV retard awards, then american music awards, now this.... why do we need three award shows for the same bad music? WHY are people so in love with this blah. i swear if you took some acutal time out of your music stealing time you would find some amazing artists that you would acutally want to support by buying their albums...
