I'm with Mr-Pickles, the domestic violence jokes are tacky, boys.

Terrible pictures, but maybe it's not all bad that they leaked. I think the fact that we never really saw pictures of her after the fact downplayed the seriousness of what happened to her and a lot of people brushed it off as not that bad. Hopefully this wakes some people up about domestic violence.

I don't blame the victim. She was not the violent one. Her mistake was not leaving. Maybe this was the first time that he raised a hand to her but I doubt it. I spoke to a black woman once who said that her boyfriend beat her and she was told by his family that if a man doesn't beat you he doesn't love you, and she believed it.

Don't try to make yourself out to be an angel when you are a self professed troll who looks to start trouble.

I have a gay friend who was the victim of physical abuse and control. I don't even know how bad it got, from what I did hear it was terrible. I can't blame him because he felt trapped. Thank God he got out of it. All men need to learn to respect themselves enough to not let their man hit them.

Growing up I had a female friend who was physically abused by her boyfriend. I never saw it, but heard about it from her other friends. She then got into a terrible marriage with an abusive man. Luckily she met a wonderful kind man that has been with her for years.

When I was in my early 20's I had a female friend who was also abused by her boyfriend. Luckily she was smart to dump him and find someone who treated her well.

If I make a joke and you can't take it, fuck you, I don't care what you (plural) think. I know when to take shit seriously. I find dead baby jokes funny too.

What's funnier than a dead baby?
A dead baby in a clown costume!


I don't choose to take life so seriously.

Not really. He's essentially irrelevant nowadays. I wouldn't exactly call that forgiven. This asshole is lucky irrelevance is the worst he has to deal with.

I'm glad Rihanna is still going strong. I just got her new album, Loud, and its good.

By the way, its crazy how her music video for S&M got banned in 11 COUNTRIES! Its not that bad. I mean, as much as I love Lady Gaga, Alejandro was a lot worse.

Chris Brown is receiving regular rotation on radio stations for his songs No Bull****, Yeah 3X, and Deuces. His video for Yeah 3X is receiving airplay on MTV and BET. Not to mention, artists are still working with him and featuring him on their songs. His career may have been stalled, but it's not finished.

I was never a fan of his music, but my husband really was. He doesn't listen to Chris Bown anymore, partly due to the incident and partly because his music is slipping.

But the insensitivity on this thread? Are we demeaning the poor girl because she is a celebrity? Or are we trying to brush the incident off to make ourselves feel better for being attracted to him and/or liking his music?

Surely you wouldn't stop caring if a friend, your mother/sister, coworker, etc was the victim of spousal abuse? I can't imagine anybody saying, "My sister was brutally beaten by a much larger man. But that was two years ago. Nobody cares. Move on."

While I agree we shouldn't harp on such travesty, surely we can not just forget them either? Violence is wrong. It is never acceptable. Maybe we should just forget Matthew Shepard too? That was a long time ago.

Relative to where we was before this situation took place, his career has taken a nose dive. I didn't say his career was finished, only that at the moment it doesn't really matter to anyone but his biggest fans. As for radio/video play, I don't listen to the radio or the kind of music he puts out anymore and I didn't even realize MTV still played videos (unless you're referring to MTV Hits/JAMS) so I wouldn't really know. The point I'm making is that I never really listened to his music, but I damn sure knew who he was and instantly recognized his songs when I heard them. Now? Not so much.

Frankly, I can't be bothered about Rihanna. She is one of the many of millions of women out there being battered by some ball-less men. These women surprisingly do not have your support as they are not pretty, do not have great PR nor are they rich and have successful careers in music. Yet she gets all the sympathy and help and encouragement from people who don't even know her and these women continue to go through day by day suffering far worse than Riri did.

What Paws posted is right. We care too much about celebrities. Like any of you will remember this after this becomes yesterday news again.

And jokes about dosmetic violence is funny. And jokes about 9/11. Just because I don't follow your lemming way of feeling about things don't make me a tacky person. People joke, not because they are insensitive, because they know you care extremely too much and we care as just much to piss you off. That being said, it was the year Rihanna had the most number of hits.

While we’re on the subject of violent, egotistical women-beaters, apparently Chris Brown wasn’t too thrilled yesterday when MediaTakeout.com posted two new photos from the night he beat Rihanna senseless. Fortunately he knows who the real culprit is and took to Twitter to tell everybody until his publicist shat a canary and yanked it down.

It’s ironic how “somebody” put this out right around my album time! Wow! I guess that’s supposed to be a strategic chess move! Unbelievable

Ah, my favorite bullshit Christian coping mechanism: “Bringing up your past is a trick of the devil.” Yes, that’s right, Chris Brown, Jesus forgave you, so you should never have to face responsibility for your actions again, you poor thing. How dare that horned bastard do this except, fuck you, we’re talking about fictional characters. So for this alone, and I’m not even factoring in the abuse, I want those Rihanna photos to be on the cover of every single one of your albums from here on out. Not that it would stop your fanbase, of course, but it’s the thought that counts.
