It wasn't a stab at her. It was, if anything, a jab at you. "Rihanna is so great because she's a model who sells lip gloss!" and surprise, surprise, you happen to think that the lip gloss she was telling you about was the best lip gloss ever! Like, Ohmigod!

Basically, any cover girl could be selling you this lip gloss. I guess what none of us know is if you would have liked this lip gloss half as much if Eva Pigford was selling it instead of Rihanna.

Like her because she makes fun music and maybe even because she's pretty...but loving her because her singing and dancing got her a cover deal to look pretty and sell cosmetics that she probably doesn't actually 'personally' love is just silly.

Basically, you just used this thread to say that Rihanna's great because the lip gloss she hocked to you was so great and not sticky. Wake up call, if you loved the lip gloss some agent got her arbitrarily pretend she loved, you would probably love all of Cover Girl's lip glosses, regardless of who sold them.

You can commend her for landing another contract deal and make more money for herself, you can commend her on her singing ability, and her average stage presence, but why would you commend her for selling a product she had no hand in actually creating? Does the fact that it "tastes good and isn't sticky" in any way reflect her and her talent? No. So what are you so excited about?

10 consecutive weeks @ number 1 in the UK and

7 weeks in the US

and 6 weeks on the world united charts

and 7 weeks @ number 1 on the European Charts,

and 4 weeks @ number one the Canadian charts

and 7 weeks at number 1 on the Australian charts?

Umbrella simultaneously topped the UK, Canadian, Irish, German, United States, Australian, New Zealand, Polish, French, Austrian, Belgian, Norwegian and Swiss charts, along with the United World Chart?

The entire world must me masochistic to subject themselves to UMBRELLA for so many months. They must love torture. Someone is forcing the world to buy and download the single resulting it dominating literally the entire world.

Irreplaceable spent 7 weeks at number one too, but UMBRELLA has outsold it domestically and internationally. Irreplaceable was not huge outside the USA.

UMBRELLA is by far the biggest selling single of 2007.

Celine - "My Heart Will Go On"

Oh and just for the record, none of the above songs spent 10 weeks at number 1 like UMBRELLA did, Whitney came the closest with 9 weeks.

they never came close to 10 weeks true, but in the end, they will be more respected than Rhianna's song can ever hope to bring. It sounds like all the other songs. It isnt groundbreaking in the least like those other songs (maybe not Mariah's). I mean you will recite her 10 week stint on the UK charts, but still, it isnt a groundbreaking song.

and not to mention, she can't even begin to try and sing like those true divas.

You see, hating someone is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.

Second, hate can make him sick. It can crank up his production of stomach acid, adrenaline, and other substances that can take a toll on his health. It can give him headaches, tension, and high blood pressure. Where his body is concerned, this feeling is too expensive.

How interesting. So you're saying that Rihanna isn't better than Los del Rio? After all, they're amazing, not-annoying, number one hit song "Macarena" was #1 in the US for 14 weeks. Rihanna is only half as good!
