I haven't heard it yet on the radio. Her myspace page doesn't even have the entire song if you add it to your page it'll only play less than half of it. I can only hear the entire thing on youtube.

According to Rihanna's official site, the video is set to be shot in Los Angeles on April 9, 2007.

After listening to UMBRELLA all day yesterday, i think this is possibly the best song of the year ive heard so far, with All Good Things by Nelly Furtado a close second.

Its strange and different, but when you understand what it means then its great.

I still haven't heard it on radio yet but if you listen to it with headphones you hear different instruments (2:45:12) and (3:43:23) that just enhances the song overall. If you just listen to it from your computer speakers you could miss some of the production elements.


My life is currently ruled by this song. I plan everything I do around the next chance to hear it!

* #20 on the Pop 100 Airplay chart.
* #69 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop chart.


It looks like it will be a slow ride to the top of the charts, just like S.O.S

S.O.S took forever to reach number one, so a little patience.

I still haven't heard it on any radio yet so i guess when people start hearing it, it will soar up faster.

Dont worry. The song is just getting started. Once she releases it on digital download and films a music video for it, well it will explode up the charts. Im willing to bet it will go to #1 on the Hot 100.

"According to Terius Nash, the song was shopped around to many labels before it reached Rihanna. Mary J. Blige, Akon both passed on the song. But once it got to Karen Kwak at Universal she sent it to Antonio "L.A" Reid. Thus, Rihanna's version of Umbrella was born.

The song has received positive reviews with the general idea that Rihanna is beginning to show vocal improvement and growth as an artist. The reviews also state that Jay-Z's cameo was unnecessary and uninspired."

Although the probably would have reworked some of the song to fit her vocals.


Christina Milian was originally asked to record S.O.S for her third album, but the singer turned it down and Island Def Jam CEO L.A. Reid instead offered "SOS" to Rihanna. Christina commented that the song was too poppy for an R'n'B- artist
