I always laugh when people screw those things up, because it proves they don't even understand what they're permanently putting on their bodies.

Not quite. Simple adjectives in French such as "belle" (beautiful) go before the noun. Hence "la belle fleur" (beautiful flower). Rihanna is obviously punning on that by making it rebellious flower, but the pun wouldn't work if she put the adjective last.

But then rebelle can be a noun as well as an adjective. So she has written rebel flower while retaining the pun on "belle fleur".

Not genius but not gibberish either.
