Metta -- I THINK that YOU are the ONLY person I kinda know -- that LEAVES the blender out ALL THE TIME...

Which is PROBABLY why the manufacturers think that looks REALLY aren't that important...

I have a walk in pantry and plenty of cupboard space but I leave appliances that I use all of the time, on my counter. It is a convenience thing.

Yes yes...poor blender, but...

Did I hear something about grilled cheese?

Waring makes a huge range of blenders. Only one or two speeds, though, but what the hell do you need 18 speeds for? Hi, low, pulse, and continuous are all you need. The pulse toggle is what it's all about.

I dunno about that Oster one from Amazon. Osters usually have a hard time with ice and leave little chunks of ice no matter how long you leave it on. It looks nice though.

You're probably just as well off buying an old blender at a thrift shop, I guess just make sure that it's actually working first...

Thanks! I have ordered a Waring....but I got a commercial version. I"m hoping that the quality will be a little better than the residential version. I hope that it looks ok with my toaster.

Wow...600 watts is powerful as well. It is less than half the cost of the one that I just ordered. But I'm hoping that over the long term that the one I bought will be a better value. It has replaceable parts available.
