Rise of Fascism in the United States [SPLIT]

And a tactical stay in the case before the SC concerning SNAP payments. Justice Brown also knows that the Robert's court is eager to support Trump in crashing and burning this
program of federal government support.

They will have no problem transferring the power from Congress to the Executive on this one.

An excellent article I would otherwise have never seen.

Thank you for sharing it.

The pardoning of criminals who assisted you to gain power continues. Or at least, releasing criminals back omnto the street.

^ I would love to hear Rep Comer’s response to being lied to by this grifter, normally a witness who makes you look like a sap would trigger a press conference to clear the record but, alas I don’t see one coming.

National Public Radio (NPR) wins in Federal Court. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting has restored funding for NPR radio, after the Courts declared unconstitutional Trump's Executive Order that tried to pull $1 billion in funding.

The Courts found that Trump's White House and his appointees were biased against NPR and were illegally penalizing the Free Press for content that they did not like, in violation of the First Amendment.

NPR reaches settlement protecting public radio distribution and First Amendment rights

NPR offers all PRSS interconnected public radio stations total relief from interconnection fees for two years

WASHINGTON, D.C.; November 17, 2025 — NPR and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) have reached a resolution concerning the disbursement of federal funds appropriated for interconnection services, leading to a joint stipulation in NPR's legal challenge to Executive Order 14290. In the November 17 stipulation, NPR and CPB agreed that the Executive Order is unconstitutional and that CPB will not implement or enforce it unless ordered by a court. The settlement also provides for CPB to disburse previously agreed upon funds to NPR to operate PRSS, the interconnected satellite-distributed network managed by NPR.

In conjunction with this outcome, NPR announced to the public radio system that it will immediately dedicate additional resources toward fortifying the public radio system. NPR's Distribution/Interconnection Committee and the NPR Board have approved full and total relief of PRSS interconnection fees for two years for all interconnected public radio stations.

A bit of good news finally.

They're appealing that decision to the Supreme Court. Given the fascist direction of most of SCOTUS these days, the gerrymandered Texas maps will likely be reinstated.

^ That likely protects the California maps though, since they were based on a plebiscite and should be harder to overturn in a court.

The Catholic Church sues government over ICE and DHS actions to prevent the Church and pastors from having access to detained immigrants. The Church has become increasingly vocal against the way that immigrants are being treated in the US. Also, it doesn't win any favor with the Church if you are shooting priests or throwing priests during the ground while they are exercising their First Amendment rights to protest and assemble peacefully.

Several key members of the immigrant abuse program, like Tom Homan, profess to be Catholics. 🤦‍♂️
Clergy sue feds over restriction on providing religious services to immigrants held at Broadview ICE facility

The group has attempted to provide communion for detainees at the facility, but were denied, with officials citing “safety and security concerns,” according to the lawsuit. The group is now suing the government, arguing the denial is a violation of the First Amendment.

US Catholic bishops condemn Trump administration's immigration enforcement

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has issued a rare condemnation of U.S. President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown and advocated for "meaningful immigration reform."

"We are troubled by threats against the sanctity of houses of worship and the special nature of hospitals and schools," the bishops said in a special message, the first of its kind in 12 years.

At least 7 faith leaders arrested at Broadview ICE facility protest

In video recorded on Nov. 14 outside the embattled U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Broadview, Illinois, the Rev. Michael Woolf stands alongside fellow protesters, fiddling awkwardly with his backpack as faith leaders and other protesters chant slogans at a line of police officers. A moment later, one officer can be seen walking forward, grabbing Woolf by the wrist and yanking.

Demonstrators attempted to hold on to Woolf, who was wearing a clerical collar, but four officers wrenched him from the crowd and tossed him to the ground. After turning him onto his stomach, officers proceeded to arrest Woolf, and removed him to the Cook County Sheriff's Office in Maywood, Illinois.

"I've got bruises all over my body," Woolf, an American Baptist minister who is pastor of Lake Street Church of Evanston, Illinois, told Religion News Service. He was speaking in his first interview since being released Nov. 14 afternoon after about seven hours in custody.

US Catholic bishops sue Trump administration for halt in funding for refugee settlement

Catholic bishops sued the Trump administration on Tuesday over its abrupt halt to funding of refugee resettlement, calling the action unlawful and harmful to newly arrived refugees and to the nation’s largest private resettlement program.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops says the administration, by withholding millions even for reimbursements of costs incurred before the sudden cut-off of funding, violates various laws as well as the constitutional provision giving the power of the purse to Congress, which already approved the funding.

The conference’s Migration and Refugee Services has sent layoff notices to 50 workers, more than half its staff, with additional cuts expected in local Catholic Charities offices that partner with the national office, the lawsuit said.
