Rise of Fascism in the United States [SPLIT]

Among the Kennedy Center's latest [straight, white and largely male] honorees was a lonely black, female face: 81 year old Gloria Gaynor, known for her 1978 hit, "I Will Survive", which was originally a B-side and became a disco anthem, largely because it got lots of play in the gay clubs.

Don't expect Ms Gaynor to be making any speeches at the White House ceremony. Even though she's been touring the gay clubs for 45 years and suing anyone who uses the song without paying her royalties, she has a long history of discomfort with her gay fan base.

That was a favorite at the Roller Dome where I used to get all-night exercise.

Of course they are centres for the spread of disease.

It is part of the plan.

It's a bad plan.

Legal immigrants to the US are required to undergo a physical that includes a chest ray to screen for TB. One of the serious issues with an unregulated immigration system is the possibility that we can have a reintroduction of TB into the US.

The US has been very lucky. At the beginning of the 20th century, the US undertook a major campaign to eradicate TB. It was a major success. Because we have so little TB in the US, only about 1% of our cases are resistant to multiple antibiotics (MDR-TB).

In the rest of the world, multi-resistant TB accounts for about 10% of all cases. If they allow TB to proliferate in these concentration camps, it will remain in the US long after they have deported the immigrant.s

I doubt if TrumpCo. or the oligarchs understand or care. The super rich all plan on holing up in their bunker estates on islands or floating around on their yachts.

TB will just be one more thing that attacks the poor and marginalized communities, taking out the homeless and the addicts.

And of course since it has been effectively eradicated in the US and there is no continuing research or impetus for vaccinations, it will likely soon be present in every major city.

Welcome to the 19th century.

And HIV infected people, of course.

The thing that people seems to forget- and they definitely forgot during the COVID pandemic- is that we have a large population of young people in whom we have induced an immuno-compromised condition via all of those drugs that are constantly advertised on cable television. During the pandemic, I was shocked at the number of people who I knew who "came out" to me as being on treatment for multiple sclerosis, plaque psoriasis, arthritis, Crohn's disease and a host of other auto-immune diseases.

If you listen to those TV commercials, there's always a warning about tuberculosis infection on these drugs.

A bit of good news....from FB alerts:

"A judge just ruled Trump ILLEGALLY appointed bootlicker Alina Habba as acting NJ US attorney.
She is now immediately removed from all cases.
Even better, the status of ALL prosecutors appointed by him will be challenged. "

The story:

The weaponization of the DoJ against any perceived or real enemies of Trump is continuing.

Expect also attacks on Obam and Hillary as well as former Intelligence bigwigs.

Perhaps.

A couple of weeks ago, the FBI also fired a bunch of the agents and supervisors involved in the Mar-A-Lago national security documents breech. Democrats need to be on the phone with those agents finding out what they know.
Politics may have spurred August purge of 5 veteran FBI agents

When the FBI fired five veteran agents earlier this month, Director Kash Patel offered no explanation.

Shock at the firings has continued to reverberate through the storied agency. And now, details are emerging about the possible motivation, several sources close to the agents tell CBS News.

"There is a despicable purge underway of senior FBI officials, all of whom have risen in their careers as nonpartisan, and who have been targeted for vindictive, political purposes," said Mark Zaid, a whistleblower attorney who represents a number of federal workers dismissed under President Trump.

And the DOJ will likely miss today's deadline to turn over the Epstein documents to Congress.
Congressional lawmakers will get their hands on a first tranche of Epstein files in the coming days.

House Oversight Committee chair James Comer in a statement Monday said the Justice Department would start to turn over Jeffrey Epstein-related materials this Friday — less than two weeks after the Kentucky Republican transmitted a subpoena to the agency to demand access to documents connected to the deceased financier and sex offender.

Distractions. Keep the focus on getting Democrats off their ass and keep the focus on Trump's involvement in Epstein's sex trafficking ring.

An interesting opinion came out of SCOTUS this week. The 5-4 decision said that Trump can temporarily continue to withhold funding for NIH research grants totalling nearly $800 million. Several States, many of whom have had to lay off healthcare researchers because of withheld funding, have sued saying that Trump's abrupt withdrawal of NIH grants that were funded but not disbursed was illegal.

The Court's decision said that Trump can continue to withhold the funds while the States sue in lower courts to have the funds released. The opinion hints that lower Court findings that Trump's anti-DEI Executive Order, which was used to withhold the funds, may be unconstitutional.

A heavily fractured Supreme Court on Thursday allowed the Trump administration to halt nearly $800 million in research grants awarded by the National Institutes of Health that officials say touch on race and gender issues, but a majority of the court also signaled that the president’s overall effort to crack down on diversity, equity and inclusion efforts may be in trouble.

The court declined to force President Donald Trump to spend the grant money for the moment, but it also didn’t block a lower court ruling that tossed guidance from the administration that was at the heart of the effort to cut the funding. The grantees, the court said, could still seek the money but would have to do so in a different court.

The decision on the grants divided the court 5-4, with Chief Justice John Roberts joining the court’s three liberals on that point. They would have denied the Trump administration entirely. Four of the court’s conservatives – Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh – said they would have sided with Trump entirely.

In past decisions, Justice Sotomayor has been the liberal voice calling out the obsequiousness of the conservative justices. In this latest decision, Justice Jackson weighed in with a reference to Calvin and Hobbes, saying that the conservative justices just make up new rules to excuse ruling in favor of the Trump Administration. It's almost as if they were complicit with a larger plan. 🤔

The latest shakedown. How is state ownership of businesses consistent with a free market economy?

More evidence the entire system is collapsing. This reminds me of the video that shows that tanker in the storm, the camera on the bridge recording it, when suddenly the bow breaks off!

All the rust in the members of this ship has eaten away over the years. Now we have Congress utterly failing, and the executive branch actively working against the Constitution, and the Supreme Court as bitterly divided as to undermine its own authority.

The ship is going down. Believe it.
