Now, thanks to that remarkable engine Gary has found and posted, here’s a train pic of a most intriguing engine from 1924. It was by Kitson-Still, a steam and diesel hybrid locomotive. It started on steam power until 5mph, then changed over to diesel power. It regularly ran over the York, Market Weighton, Hull line on the 3.00 p.m., freight train until 1934. It was then withdrawn for scrapping.
