Well, the migraine ‘hangover’ was not too bad today. Today has been about other stuff, especially the train coming back from Scarborough - the sea air has helped calm me. It usually does.
So, the journey back home on the train was most unusual. Here’s a little piece about it.
I was on the 16.02 train from Scarborough to Sheffield, due to detrain at Beverley. We got as far as Driffield. Then that was that. The train was stopped for 102 minutes owing to the station crossing having failed with the barriers down, and also, a few yards south of that crossing a dead Swan on the line. Unfortunately Swans are protected, and we had to wait for someone to come and remove it. So, there’s a journey which will live on in my memory for a long time.

Rob, I'm glad you got out and enjoyed the sea air. Sometimes it makes you feel better. Sorry you had that delay on your return trip. I used to run into innumerable delays back in the days that I rode commuter trains. You could count of them being late every time it rained because the signals would go out. Of course it rains all the time in Florida, so I don't see why they didn't make it a priority to fix that problem.
