I didn't go out. Thrifty me stayed in and watched Master Chef on TV. I'm going to Jersey City for their Pride this Saturday, so more money to spend on rainbow stuff which I'll have to lug home somehow.

Now quite as late tonight, and enjoyed some time in Scarborough today after the winds died down. But speaking of winds, we have a major windstorm early tomorrow (Friday) morning, with gusts up to about 60 mph. There is a Yellow Alert for severe gales between 7.00 a.m., and 11.00 a.m., It may be the power goes off for a while, so if I am not around tomorrow, etc., I will be okay, but not able to be online until power gets restored. Please try not to worry, RM. :kiss: Oh, and the storm has been named Lilian.

Thank you for your love and support about the storm Lillian. Our biggest gust was 60 mph at 08.00 a.m., I could not see any damage, but, just south of Bridlington, on the railway, a train from Scarborough to Hull ran into a fallen tree. Apparently little damage to the train, and no injuries, but no more ran for several hours until the tree could be cut up and removed.

More sci-fi for me this evening, but I will go to bed early. I hope to go to York later on tomorrow.

Rob, I hope you're OK after dealing with those storms. 60 mph is quite some wind. You said they called it Lillian, but I suspect it had a lot of energy from hurricane Ernesto, which hit Bermuda earlier in the week. The Hurricane Center stops tracking them when they say the storms have become extratropical, but I noticed this one was headed in your general direction. Glad you made it through OK.

I’ve had a good day, and got to York on the train. Sadly, north of Beverley several level crossings were not working after power outages from yesterday’s storm, but my trains were thankfully running. I was a bit naughty in York, and bought a new model train. It’s a class 25/2 diesel locomotive, D5282, in two tone green. Here’s a couple of photo’s, one of which is a close up of a cab end showing the remarkable level of detail on the model.

I've seen the commercial few times now and yes today marks 23 years when aaliyah died 😢 hard to imagine its been that long may she continue to RIP 🙏
