Hi RM! At last I'm checking in with a report on my Sunday in Sunset Park.
It was a gray gloomy drizzly day, but I still had fun. I arrived in NYC from New Jersey at the World Trade Center. The subway line I wanted to take was rerouted for weekend track work so I had to go uptown to get downtown. So I got to Brooklyn and went almost directly to my planned lunch stop, Maria's Bistro Mexicano. It was just the kind of restaurant I love...cozy, not cramped, not busy. The enchiladas were delicious and the margarita very strong. Is some tequila harsher? It seemed rough but of course I drank it up.
5th Avenue in Sunset Park is full of Latino dining opportunities. I want to try the Honduran place next time.
After a little walk, I reached Sunset Park itself. It's elevated! The views would have been better on a clearer day. But here's how I saw it:

Walking through the park. I came out onto 8th Avenue. It's one of New York's Chinatowns. Blocks and blocks of stores and restaurants catering to Brooklyn's Chinese-American community. I was "wow"ed by the produce and seafood markets...HUGE fish waiting for buyers, and perfect-looking fruits. I did buy from the "99c" store. But I wasn't about to carry fish home
I eventually came to a subway station...and found more difficulty. No inbound service at that stop. So I took a train to Coney Island and headed back to Manhattan on the F train.
I was thinking about getting a drink somewhere, but that margarita was STRONG and I was still feeling it! So I stayed on the F train to Herald Square, walked over to Penn Station and started on my way home.

I'd change the weather and the subway service, but I did have a good day.

First I must thank you for your support about the railway tragedy on Wednesday, RM. :kiss: Thankfully Thursday was back to normal.
I had a good day, but the weather was cloudy and wet much of the day, so I got more chores done. I enjoyed a quiet evening.
I have been rereading a thread in the dvd/bluray forum I belong. It covers much about a onetime series about spies and undercover agents etc., There were many disc faults that had to be corrected. It’s just interesting to look back on such things and see if we can learn from them.
