If it happens it’s thought that it will bring the whole network down, with lines permanently closed down…

Well, thinking of trains, here’s a photo’ of Darlington station with two two car class 101 diesel trains about to depart on a service to Saltburn in about 1979.

Went out shopping with some friends. :) I hope the pay and work conditions concerning the railway workers is sorted out before the strike takes place and the lines are permanently shut down. I’m doing okay, but it’s now become apparent that other workers like postal workers, power workers etc., are balloting to go on strike in the biggest ever coordinated strike since the general strike of 1926 in an attempt to bring down our sleazy government. I’ll try and keep you updated, but things are moving quite quickly with one announcement due on Tuesday.

So, again with trains in mind, let’s take a look at one. It shows a class 124 diesel train at Hessle on a Hull to Manchester service in February, 1980.
