Now, my mind is really boggling after seeing a model layout of Carlisle earlier on today. It is 95 feet by 20 feet. It is just enormous!!! It is all to 4mm = 1 foot scale.
Here’s a couple of pics. That man really is kneeling on part of the layout to help get some track laid….

It is housed in a purpose built building at some great cost, and has taken since 2013 to reach this stage of completion. There remains a long slog ahead to get it all completed. I think the lottery has been won, we are talking several hundred thousands of GBP’s!
